I'm just interested in what others think after watching new episode. Or maybe you don't want to watch it or cant. I've seen both good and bad reviews, I agree that it could've been so much better but I'm rather happy with it's return. So chat away!

I thought it was going to be bad because I heard Americans are getting a condensed version of the show. UK was getting the full version. But last night's episode wasn't that bad. Not as good as the first two seasons, but better than the third.
I don't have cable either. Watched it online.

Watched it online since it hasn't aired here in the uK yet. First watching, it was good, fuck it was almost likeable which I wasn't expecting. It was better than S3 but not has good as S1&2. I don't know I feel as if its lost a lot of what made it Torchwood. Its the Jack and Gwen show now which pisses me off a little.
Plus "Owen Harper, FBI" No no no no no

Haha "Owen Harper, FBI" made me laugh I love that bit! Is it just me or does it seem like Jack is like slowing down? I don't know how to describe it but he doesn't seem as kick-ass and charming as he has in the past. Maybe it just because he's not immortal anymore, or he's not over the CoE stuff yet, I don't know.

I don't know, there were a couple of issues I had with it mainly around how out of character Gwen seemed at moments. Like being excited about the idea of Anwen being immortal. I just no it just didn't ring right with me for a moment. After all the comments she made about it being not as great as you would think through TW it just felt. Wrong.
I think the immortal thing plays a part in Jack slowing down, I don't know there was something about him that was a lot darker, and obvs he just isn't throwing himself in to deadly situations any more.

I never really liked Gwen any way but I agree that she didn't seem quite right. I guess her character has a more motherly side to it now. Anwen always looks alittle too happy, don't get me wrong it's cute but why is it always smiling? Oh and wtf happened to Andy? He looks different, either he gained weight or got a new hair cut or both. He just looks strange.

I'm waiting for a scene with Jack holding Anwen and Rhys worrying about her looking too much like Jack...you know its gonna happen

I DVRed it. I rather enjoyed it, it seems a bit clunky in spots but over all it was pretty decent.

I thought it was ok. The gore was a bit much, but I felt the same way about CoE. They've shown a willingness to break social taboos in the past, so I don't know what's still sacred.
I'm really hoping Anwen doesn't die, but if this is like the last series I suppose she is going to have to :/

I thought "gore" was pretty much the norm for Torchwood. It's not suppose to be kid friendly. And since it's not kid friendly, I don't pin a lot of hopes on poor Anwen's survival.

Alright I'm calling it now: Gwen parents, Anwen and the American girl with the blonde hair that Jack Retconned all die.
Mark my works.

Ever since the second season, they've been killing off main cast members. I consider the main cast members to be Torchwood, so Jack and Gwen. Jack might be mortal again, but I can't see them killing him off, so I believe it will be Gwen. Rex Matheson and Oswald Danes should've already died, so they'll die. And poor Anwen, too, just because children doesn't fit into Torchwood.
That's my prediction. Gwen, Anwen, Rex Matheson, Oswald Danes.

I actually disagree with Gwen dying off only because she's the one that made the segway into Torchwood when the series started. If it does happen then it will be wrong on so many different levels. But who knows? They already killed off most of the cast in the last show specials they did.
