According to K9 this was Gallifrey and every scan that Romana did with her TARDIS only confirmed this to the truth. Romana scratched her head, not really sure how they had managed to even de-materalized here. Could this be another dimension? Maybe an Alternate-Reality. It could be a lot of things. But one thing was certain; her scans had determined that it was in fact.....real. It had a molecular structure, had all the things it needed to be what it could be. Romana shook her head, it seemed like she had just escaped death off of Gallifrey and then ended up back on it. Did that even make sense? Romana sighed and muttered, "I am confused....." At least her TARDIS had landed somewhat inconspicuously on the planet, and ended up being nothing more than a door on a wall. If this really was Gallifrey....then there was one thing that had Romana a bit worried, Rassilon. Was he still in power? Or did they finally dispose him. It really did bother Romana just a bit. She could still be considered a tratior and a wanted fugitive in the eyes of the Time Lord council. Why did things have to be so complicated? But Also Romana couldn't help but wonder who exactly was in charge, what had happened since she had run off and why wasn't Gallifrey in ruins. After all, Romana did happen to have access to the Matrix, she knew that the Doctor had to do to stop Rassilon even though she couldn't. So why was this planet still here? She sighed as she put on her hat....  and walked out of the TARDIS to have a look around., she said calmly to K9, "Stay K9. I'll whistle for you if I need you." She then walked out and began to look around.... Looking around her, Romana realized she wasn't anywhere near the great panoptican, but rather outside of it and in the wastelands and Romana wondered if there were any Shebogans or outsiders wandering about. There was something curious about the Shebogans that had fascinated Romana as a child. They were Gallifreyans who had rejected Time Lordian society and chose to live in the wilds like the first Gallifreyans had done before they had learned the secrets to Time and Space. Romana placed her hand and scooped up a handful of dirt thinking about how rich it was and how abnormal it seemed. When she had left, Gallifrey as a planet was dying, even the soil held no promise of life. But just to be sure that this was Gallifreyan soil she then took out a container from one of her pockets and put the dirt inside of it, she'd have K9 examine it closely enough to be sure that it was indeed Gallifreyan soil. She put her hand into her pocket again and pulled out a bag of Jelly Babies and began to eat a few of them. She still shook her head, it was still so very quiet that Romana wondered if the planet itself wasn't some sort of museum piece. Perhaps someone had recreated her home merely as a display, there was something about this that reminded her vaguely of a strange container that humans had that they put ants in. What was it again? She scratched her head trying to think of it and then remembered the name. Ant farm. It was like they were on an ant farm. That idea sent a chill down Romana's spine. |

 The Doctor was thinking the same thing as Jack, Gallifrey was supposed to be time locked, there was no way it could be here. But there it was clear as day, he felt like he was going crazy but he wouldn't let Jack know that and he shook his head, before starting the landing, heading zooming-rather out of control-for the planet's surface. He couldn't just blurt out that it was Gallifrey, he had to find out for sure first. The readings were starting to print out all around him, saying that they had, in fact, found Gallifrey, with some rather odd changes. Which was completely impossible, but here it was as plain as day in figures and facts and his TARDIS never lied.
"It's nothing, well not nothing, it's something... something incredible. But, it's still nothing. Yes we're going there, I don't know where we are exactly... well I do, but it's impossible and I need to go through these readings," he said as they flew, spinning, right down through the atmosphere and when they broke through he yanked down the screen again, gaping in an almost awe-like way at the silver trees he could see reflecting and a feeling of overwhelming homesickness. "It's real, that's Gallifrey, but that's impossible!" The Doctor breathed, sounding rather choked up as they bounced along the wind to come crashing to a rough stop against the side of a hill, the TARDIS leaning on its side.
He rushed-as fast as he could with everything on an angle- to the door, almost falling over backwards in the process, managing to shove the doors open and climbing out into the open, falling on his back and looking up at the orange sky. It was real, that was the sky! His hands touched the grass and he yanked it up in his hands. Grass, this was real Gallifrayan grass! He put a bit in his mouth and promptly spat it out. Yup, definitely grass. Rolling and scrambling to his feet, the Doctor spun around in a circle, holding his hand to his chest, brow scrunching up as he saw slight signs of damage all around him.
He wasn't surprised, really, he suspected the Hand of Omega would of destroyed everything, but it hadn't, obviously. He turned towards The Never Ending Mountains of Solace and Solitude and for a moment he thought a twinkle caught his eye, making him wibble in excitement, straightening his tie. But that feeling was quickly wiped away when he saw the shapes of the ones closer to the city, lower and more rubble than he remembered. He knew without being there that the city and it's dome would be gone, there would likely be a big hole where it had existed in the past.
Stomping his foot on the ground, he frowned. Something didn't feel right. It didn't feel to be moving-the Doctor looked back up and the sky, pulling out his sunglasses and squinting.
It did feel a bit hotter, the grass lighter and he couldn't see any water around, could it have dried up? Not one for waiting around for his answers, the Doctor was about to make a comment to Jack to get moving when his eyes fell on another TARDIS not far off. He paused and looked around seeing someone in the distance.
Hesitating, the Doctor actually stepped back. Maybe being here wasn't such a good idea, after all he was the one who had gone against the Time Lord Council, the one who had 'supposedly' destroyed Gallifrey and Rassilon. Was he still alive, surely the planet would look worse if he was.
"It's Gallifrey," he repeated to himself, a little more proudly, grinning now as his eyes stayed focused on the figure ahead. "I don't know how, but this is it.... This isn't possible, but maybe it's a miracle, never did believe much in those, this will do me. Oh, you are beautiful," he exclaimed with his hands on his hips, rocking on his feet as he once again looked around.
"BEAUTIFUL!" he shouted, not caring if the other Time Lord/Lady (if that's what they were) heard him. He leaped a little, knocking his feet together and then stopped, he wasn't doing that again any time soon, even if it had felt good doing it. "JACK! JACK! I'M HOME! IT'S NOT GONE..." he faced the other figure and waved with both hands, yelling. "HEEELLOOOOO!"

As the TARDIS started to spin out of control, Jack grabbed onto the controls, holding on for dear life. There was no way they would make a safe landing (he'd traveled with The Doctor enough to see his reckless flying and know this) and so he tried as best he could to brace himself, still nearly getting knocked of his feet when the TARDIS crashed. He stumbled back, the angle throwing him off kilter, and made his way toward the door with much less haste than The Doctor, pausing for a moment to check his reflection in a mirror, coming up beside The Doctor right as he started shouting.
"That's alright, Doctor, I didn't need that eardrum anyhow, I've got another," he teased, coming up behind him and patting him on the shoulder as he looked out at the scenery.
Gallifrey.
This was impossible, he knew it was, but it wasn't often that The Doctor was wrong. And with something that he knew so well, his home Jack knew he wouldn't be able to mistake it. On the screen, maybe, but not standing on the soil of his planet. It was impressive, much more so than Earth, though Jack could tell it had seen better days.
"So this is Gallifrey, huh?" he asked, having a good look around. Everything was shades of orange, red, and silver, the mountains more beautiful than any he'd ever seen, and it looked as though the planet was in a constant sunset. As he looked around, his eyes fell on a figure a little ways in the distance and he realized The Doctor had not been saying hello to the planet (which wouldn't have surprised him) but to whoever it was.
"Doctor, are you sure it's a good idea to bring attention to yourself? I don't know about Gallifreyans, but if a human tried to destroy the planet and escaped in a little blue box, they would probably not be welcome back on the planet. Whoever that is could be ready to shoot you on sight," he pointed out, his hand already going to his hip where one of several guns was concealed.
He felt like a freak with how on edge he was, but his outlook was that if anything ever happened to The Doctor, the universe would fall to pieces. As unlikely as that sounded it was true. He was always keeping things in order, intervening in invasions. And as much as he did with Torchwood, he knew he didn't always make the right decisions. He needed The Doctor, whether he was across the universe from him or in the same room.
And it was for that reason that everyone they came across would be considered a threat until proven otherwise. That person in the distance had no doubt heard them, though, and so he figured it would be rude not to go and say hello. Besides... they needed to know what was going on. If it was impossible to get to Gallifrey, how were they standing on it? They had to find out from someone.
"Let's go and talk to them," he suggested, motioning to whoever was on the hill. "Maybe they know something. And if anything gets sketchy, I've got your back," he assured the other man, careful not to say the word 'gun' because he knew The Doctor didn't approve of them. |

It had been a while since Akira had anything exciting happen to him. Beast didn't take him anywhere he didn't want to go either. Some times he did not like when his TARDIS took him some place he didn't want to go. But then again, it always turned up interesting and exciting. That was the good thing about it. "Where are we going to go today, Beast?" he spoke to his TARDIS. Akira pulled down his scanner to take a look. He made a face as he tapped lightly on it. "Why aren't you working? You were fine a few minutes ago.. What's going on?" he flicked at some switched on the center column.
His TARDIS jerked and almost sent him toppling over. Grabbing hold of the center column he started pulling this and turning that. "What's going on?" he pulled the scanner down again and his eyes widened. "This can't be right..." he rubbed his eyes and looked at it again. Sure enough it was still there and he had not been dreaming. Beast never lied to him before. It was telling him he was headed for Gallifrey. Something must had landed there too. Why else would his TARDIS be going there. Of all places that was supposedly lost. Destroyed even. He was there when it had happened. "Don't tease me like this Beast." he told the TARDIS and his voice cracked a bit.
Another jerk of the TARDIS, this time sending Akira flying, it had landed. Everything was still and Akira sat up and huffed some hair out of this face. One thing crossed his mind that the out side of his TARDIS was going to be cracked. Though it was pretty strong glass. Getting up he went over to his scanner and looked at it. There it was. Gallifrey. Bright as he remembered it. But it was impossible. He had to see it for himself. Grabbing the little white box off the center column and went to the door and grabbed his Fez off the hat rack and his bag. Slipping the box into his bag he slid open the green glass door and stepped out.
Inhaling deeply Akira relaxed. It smelled like home. The ground felt like home too. It someone made him home sick but how could that be when he was home. He looked around in awe at the silver trees, the red-ish colored grass, the orange sky. He saw in the distance the remains of what was the city and its dome. He frowned slightly but something distracted him out of the corner of his eye. He noticed a TARDIS. With a closer look he saw another one. And three glimpses of people. "Who are they.. Are they bad?" he spoke to himself. Then he heard one of them yell 'Hello'. He figured one way of finding out is to go over and check it out. He straightened up and started walking over. He kept his hand by his holster just in case he needed it.

People.... well Time Lords actually. Romana still couldn't get over the errie feeling she had here. Frankly this wasn't normal. planet like Gallifrey should be bustling, should be filled with people and instead there were now two to three people all with TARDIS landing here. She leaned against a rock, well her TARDIS actually. One of the Time Lords was acting well....strange and then crying out. But frankly she couldn't hear them all that well.
but she pulled out her dog whistle and gave it a mighty blow. K9 exited her TARDIS and said, "Mistress."
Romana said firmly, "K9.....I don't know what's going on here but I don't like it. And it appears we've got more people coming as well. This is....well incase you don't know, this is Gallifrey and the last time I was here well I was about ready to be put on the execution block for treason. So keep sharp and make sure that we aren't running into Rassilon's hands."
"Yes... Mistress." The tin dog stated and his laser extended outward. Romana smiled and patted him firmly, "Good dog...now let's go see if we're walking into a trap"
K9 interjected, "Mistress...walking into a trap indicates that you are not thinking rationally."
Romana snorted, "K9 I am thinking rationally and the chances are that if I end up not walking towards these people. They will eventually come to us."
Romana started carefully walking towards the individuals.

No, he wasn't sure. He wasn't sure about anything right now. Pond, would be awfully disappointed in him for being such an emotional old fool, but he really couldn't help himself. They were on Gallifrey-which shouldn't exist. But, clearly did.-and there were Time Lords and TARDISes and he was just so darned excited. He looked at Jack and bit his lip. "No-no, you're right..." he mumbled, considering he'd already thought about that fact too. He frowned though, when he saw Jack's hand reach towards his hip. "Jack, no weapons."
When Jack finally suggested to go check them out he went to go there but was stopped suddenly when another TARDIS appeared out of the orange sky, landing not too far off. "Yes-yes, you have my back," he muttered distractedly, eyes widening appreciatively as a very odd little girl stepped out of the glass box wearing a very cool looking Fez. The thing that put him off, however, was the fact they were reaching for their hip too and he looked disgusted before spinning back to face Jack and then back at the person leaning against their rock TARDIS, only to squint when he noticed a red laser and the fact it came from something lower down.
At first the Doctor had been confused by this then his face brightened considerably, a grin spreading widely over his baby face. "K-9!" he shouted and started towards him, speeding ahead of Jack and stopping not too far off his face softening as he came face to face with Romana. "Well... well...well if it isn't Romanadvoratrelundar, and of course K-9!" he wibbled a little, bringing his hands up. "Who's a good boy!" Oh this was exciting! The Doctor couldn't get the smile off of his face, oh it was glorious!
"Affection noted!"
"Do you know who I am?" the Doctor asked, reaching out and smoothing a hand over the metal head, patting it with a dull thunk, ignoring the laser pointed at them.
"Affirmative, Master," K-9 responded, tail wagging and ears spinning. "I do not forget things."
"No, of course you wouldn't," the Doctor had a bit of a happy moment and actually dropped down to his knees to hug the old metal companion. K-9, Mark II to be precise and his eyes started to water in that way they seemed to do with this regeneration. "You don't look a day older... not a scratch.." he mused, looking up at Romana and then standing, wiping his eyes and holding out his arms before sweeping her into them because he was so very glad to see her. "Did you see? It's Gallifrey! Of course you saw- how silly and emotional old me-" he croaked before tugging as his bow tie, pulling back.
"Jack-oh, yes right!" he turned to look at the other Time Lord and the--shower shaped TARDIS, eyebrows raising as he looked it over. How amusing, fascinating.
Jack. Romana. K-9. A new Time Lord. GALLIFREY!
"And the both of you," he turned to Jack and then to K-9, "Weapons? Really? You know I abhor weapons," he scolded them before a geeky, big smile reappeared on his face as he glanced over his shoulder, waving the other Time Lord closer.
"Nothing wrong with them, only cool people wear Fezes..."
His eyes focused back on Romana and he came closer, admiring her. "You don't look a day older either," he told her, looking confused, his forehead scrunching up. "No regenerations since?" he asked as he circled her, pulling out his sonic screwdriver and waving it over her, his reading seeming to be normal. "Well, you're not a Ganger, at least, not that I have anything against Gangers, I was one once," he boasted, swaggering around her and hooking his thumbs into his suspenders, quirking his eyebrow as he faced Jack.
"Jack, this is Romana a Time Lady, Romana, this is Jack, he's human but you can kill him as many times as you like..." he told him before looking serious. "Not that I agree with violence, isn't that right, K-9?"
"Affirmative, Master," K-9 replied before turning off his laser.

Pull and tear and screaming, blinding nausea and she really should be used to this by now, but traveling by manipulator never failed to make River want to spend a week sleeping afterwards, and guh.
The Doctor was making her soft, with his lovely, mad, wonderful TARDIS and his infuriating, mad, wonderful self, and she didn’t care in the least, but-oh, this was horrible.
It was like staring into a sun. A brilliant, blue, green, gold, orange, red, ever changing sun that wanted to tear her stomach out through her eye sockets and spun like a malevolent old washing machine with a taste for blood. Hers.
The air rippled for a heartbeat, a fata morgana hanging over an uncaring orange landscape, before spitting one Doctor River Song out, manipulator curls and all. No matter how much she disliked traveling via vortex manipulator, the message had come and not heeding wasn’t even an option. Never was, never will be, not now.
Still, would have been nice if he’d mentioned where she was going. A series of co-ordinates appearing, with no explanation, on her computer, even from him, did not a happy River make. A simple ‘shenanigans!’ would have sufficed, and she might have even listened, because rocky, red-orange earth and white skirts with delicate sandals didn’t mix well at all.
Oh.
Oh.
But that’s impossible. Isn’t it?
It can’t be! Red earth and dark, burnt orange skies and, and, and it can’t be, but so very clearly is.
Where the hell is that git, because he’s got so much talking to do.
River delved through her memories, digging for any scrap of information that might tell where she, or he, or anyone was, because the little computer in her manipulator insisted it was very much a real planet, no illusion, hologram, or mirage to speak of.
The city? It was in the mountains, and that was certainly a mountain range. She’d really give anything for sunrise right about now, the footing was terrible and visibility not much better. Wouldn’t do to sit in one place though, she was needed for something, and whatever it was, it wasn’t here. River picked a mountain peak-the one that seemed to split halfway down-and set out.
She mused on slipping her sandals off, but thought better of it as she walked-the terrain just didn’t look very friendly. Later, if needs be, but for now they were offering a degree of protection she didn’t want to lose.

And soon enough, she did take them off, barefooting across a landscape that seemed loath to change. No moon, or sun, or dawn broached the dark sky, just a tangle of rocks and debris that she’ set her sights on seeming hours ago.
River needed water and rest and reconnoitering, preferably in that order. She only hoped she had a snowball’s chance in hell of finding any of it.

The voices of the three people became more clearer as Akira walked closer. He could tell the tall lanky man was getting rather excited about being on Gallifrey. Akira couldn't blame him. He too was also excited to be home. But still unsure if it was real all the same. He noted the man waving him over and telling him it was all good and that cool people wear Fezes. This made him smile and walk with a bounce in his step.
Akira smiled and looked at the tall woman, the two very attractive men, and the tin dog, K-9. He remembered seeing K-9's before. Never had one. Though they were nice to have for company. He caught the tall man saying that the darker male was Jack and the woman was Romana. " Hallo everyone. I'm the Vanquisher. But please call me Akira. I never liked that name. Sounds to violent for me." he couldn't help but giggle. It was perfect for him though.
"Sorry about the gun thing. Just that my TARIDS normally leads me to places where I don't want to and I end up fighting. But it's put away so need to worry." he smiled kindly.

Holding his hands up in defense, Jack followed after The Doctor, surprised when he seemed to know the person they were approaching. He wasn't as surprised to see that it was a woman, The Doctor had no shortage of females surrounding him. He seemed very excited to see her as well, almost as though she'd been one of his companions, but what he was saying about her not looking a day older... that didn't quite make sense.
He stood by listening, smiling at the newcomer as they approached. Another time lord. Time lady? He couldn't tell, honestly, not even after him introducing himself, but he was leaning toward male just from years of checking out anything that moved. Not that it mattered, though, and he eyed up the young Gallifreyan. Cute.
"You know me, Doctor. There's more where that came from," he told him with a wink when he was scolded for going for his weapon, looking to see who else he was scolding, figuring it would be the one who seemed to be a former companion of his. He always did seem to attract the ones who liked to play with guns, but when the youngest of them (at least in looks) spoke up, he lifted his eyebrows in surprise. "Wouldn't have expected that," he said honestly. "I must say I'm impressed. Captain Jack Harkness, nice to meet you Akira," he smiled, offering his hand for a shake.
The Doctor carried on talking to the woman-as well as that little robot dog that seemed as though it were his even though Jack had never seen or heard of it before-and Jack slowly started piecing things together, looking a little surprised when The Doctor introduced her as a Time Lady, though he was really only confirming the suspicion.
"A real time lady, huh?" Jack questioned. "Never thought I'd have the chance to meet one, but here you are," he went on with a charming smile. "He's right, you know. I can't seem to die. I mean, you took my breath away and I'm still here," he flirted shamelessly.
He wouldn't flirt too much though, as it seemed she had already been one of The Doctor's catches and, save for Rose, he didn't usually take it past his typical flirty bantering. Besides, they were on a planet that shouldn't be accessible and Jack had always thought himself a bit of an adventure junkie. This was definitely his idea of an adventure and more than anything else he wanted to explore.
"There doesn't seem to be anyone here but us," he noted, having already taken a look around the area he could see from here. "I don't know much about Gallifrey but I figured there would be more people than this." Maybe they were just too far from the city though. Which meant one thing to Jack-they needed to explore. "We should look around, see if we can find anyone else," he suggested, though as the only one present that wasn't Gallifreyan, it probably wasn't his place to take charge. It was just in his nature to do so. Still, The Doctor generally had a similar mindset to him when it came to things such as this and he glanced at him, seeking out anything that might tell him whether or not they were on the same wavelength. |

Romana's sense of uneasiness suddenly washed away, it was The Doctor. But she barely recognized him. He seemed so very different and yet so very much the same. She seemed to be scrutinizing him so very much. Part of her suddenly felt weary though. This was a new and very different Doctor, not to mention she hadn't seem him in such a long time. Not to mention being on a planet that was suppose to be gone was still just a bit unsettling.
She began to wonder if she was feeling the patina of age. A bit worn and thread-bare. In theory, Time Lords if careful could last for thousands of years in the same body. Romana had managed to at least live about five to six hundred years in the same body. Yet something about being on this "shouldn't be" of a planet made Romana feel very worn and thin like butter that had been spread over too much bread. Seeing the Doctor here didn't help the feeling either. He only acutely made her aware of the feeling. Perhaps a regeneration was in order and yet, Romana did not want to change. She was stubbornly holding onto the past and frankly was refusing to let it go.
She watched as the Doctor seemed so happy to see K9 again. And then to top it off she got swept up in a hug.
She should of expected this though being swept up in a rather informal way. The Doctor was always so. informal and so quick and quirky. Yes, quirky was the right word. That had never changed. But Romana couldn't help but smile lightly. Their was something about this that Romana couldn't help but smile about. He let her go. She hadn't even gotten a word in edgewise.
She noticed the Doctor eyes glance over at a TARDIS, shaped like a shower and making a distracted comment about it that fascinated him. Romana shook her head, somethings never changed. The Doctor always ended up getting distracted. Always.
But his emotional level was getting just a bit too high for her. He seemed a bit too charged up and knew that it had to deal with this planet and he seemed apparently thrilled about being here. Romana knew she had to bring him down just a bit. She had to because she had reservations about being here.
"I am not entirely convinced that this is home, Doctor. It might smell like home, feel like home, and everything might say it's home but there's something off about the place. Somehow I get the feeling as if we're in a museum or some kid's toy, you know the ones with sand and ants in it. I can never quite remember the name. " She paused a moment trying to remember and then remembering she stated, "An Ant farm. I get this feeling that were like ants in a big glass enclosure and some kid is staring at us with beady eyes."
The Doctor's chiding over the use of weapons and K9 tucking his away made Romana state firmly, "I had to flee Gallifrey with my life, Doctor. I thought....well you were such a distance away. I thought...." She paused a moment, "Well Rassilon or some of his guards. I was accused of treason. They were going to execute me. He wanted to sweep me under the rug to give his reign as Lord President legitimacy to make his Coup against me complete." She sighed, "I am afraid I don't have much trust for Time Lords lately. They were the ones who choose Rassilon."
Her insistence to hold onto her past apparently made the Doctor scan her with his screwdriver as if to test to see if she was real and she looked a bit annoyed to say the least. Was he always this rude? He finally stated that she wasn't a "Ganger" and Romana looked a bit irked and a bit testy and decided to come off with a witty comeback, "And you seem to go through regenerations like a pair of gloves as if you can't decide whether or not you like the pair you have. But you've always been the reckless sort. Let me guess Daleks, Cybermen, the Master....maybe and not necessarily all in that order either."
Romana then smiled, "But I am still here and in the same form. And you're right not one scratch. Course I did have a few close moments but here I am."
He introduced her to Jack and something about him made her inwardly cringe. He felt off and then when the Doctor mentioned he couldn't die, that made it more plainly obvious that he wasn't normal and he wasn't right in many respects.
She merely nodded at being introduced, she wasn't sure what to make of him. Maybe she didn't want to. There was something decidedly wrong about him and something that made the Time Lady, just want to ignore him if she could.
She smiled at Akira and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you as well. I don't believe I've ever met you before and I use to...." Romana paused a moment, "Before the war, before Rassilon. I tried to make a habit at least to meet every Time Lord and Gallifreyan out their. A bit of an impossible task but...." Romana looked far away for a moment in the past and she looked sad, "Then the war happened and....the chancellors kept insisting that it wasn't safe for me to be among others and I was locked away like a china doll. Out of sight from others except the leadership of Gallifrey and then they might as well as stabbed a knife into my hearts after what they did to me."
Romana patted K9 on the head, "I escaped with K9 along with a little help from Andred and Leela."
Romana smiled weakly, "You remember, Leela, don't you Doctor? Of course you do. We all had such grand adventures you and I. Key of Time and all and E-Space."
She then dug into her pockets and pulled out a bag of Jelly Babies and ate one of them. The confection seemed to better her mood slightly, even though Romana seemed a tad bit melancholy. She sighed, "Would any of you care for one? It's a long walk to the Panopticon and I was planning to see if my chambers have changed any since I've last been here and to see if anything is out of sorts after all if this is Gallifrey, then I should be able to find my chambers and then I'll know for sure whether or not this is really home."

Cypher had had a plan, she intended to learn to fly her beautiful ship who was ancient, all the bits and pieces were still together but they creaked, oh did they creak. Dust still littered the controls and it was enough to make you sneeze and oh did Cypher do it. She was still a bit exhausted, she was sleepy and she couldn't seem to relax at all. She had to follow the direction of the living ship she seemed to be be with now. Cypher wasn't doing a great job once she was certain they were in orbit around, where the ship was orbitting. "Now where have you brought us," she muttered. "Odd place, it looks very red," as she looked at the screen and felt two very odd sensations. The first of which was that it felt like she was being called home, but she didn't understand it, she didn't have a home. The second of which was there was something very wrong about this place, like it shouldn't be here at all.
Cypher felt a nudge to her mind and she blurted out. "You need a name, a very interesting name." She could have sworn the ship was laughing at her. "A name you shall have, nothing very technical. For now I think I shall call you Bea," she declared. Again she could swear the ship was laughing at her, as if she was doing something incredibly childish, but Cypher didn't care. She had been forced to part ways with the woman from before. Cypher needed the illusion of company, and silence was something she didn't want to surround herself with, she needed noises and movement to fill in the days.
Cypher sighed as she tried to dust the controls off with her sleeve of the hoodie she had found to go over her shirt she was wearing at the moment. She let out a breath and left her mind wide open for Bea to at least nudge her in the right direction, it wasn't like there was an explanation for people to fly their ships. So she did what she could, she began spinning around the console following the images and how to move them at the best she could, though Cypher was a little slow in doing it, she hadn't quite mastered her Time Lord abilities, despite she was picking up quite well.
It was then she felt the ship began to spin out of control when she accidently skipped a step. "No, no, no, no, no. Come on Bea please!" She shouted as she found herself holding on to the console until she lost her grip and found herself holding on to the railing as she fell backwards. Cypher knew that she had to get back to Console and quickly.
Outside the interior, Bea was spinning out of control into the Gallifrey atmosphere with the exterior of a Wardrobe that looked exactly like the one used in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe movie with one subtle difference, instead of carvings of trees, it had Gallifreyan writing on it which translated to Cypher. TR-35. Bea. Once it made it into the atmosphere it began spinning faster and faster until it did a spin full stop onto the ground and fell on it's side, smoke could be both smelt and seen coming from it but was a light colored and there were light scorchmarks. The old girl had been through the ringer.
Inside, Cypher was completely wet, the plumbing pipes were broken and she was soaked, and the doors burst open revealing a red sky. "That was bloody insane Bea," she admitted as she did her best to climb on top of the rails and walked towards the edge where she reache the side rails that ran across the ship. "I'm going to see about getting some help to put you back your feet and see if I can find someone that is better at repairs." She told the ship but she received only silence.
Cypher climbed the railing until she made it to the exit. and managed to get herself halfway up and looked down, lucky for her, only her pants were wet and she had lost her shoes at one point. She let out a sigh when she noticed some people not far away. "Would someone mind helping me?" She called to them. Her TARDIS was on its back and she needed help being pulled out.

Aludra glided across the ground purposefully, her feet eating up the ground beneath her, feeling as if she were in a rush. Her superiors had all but ordered her to go survey the disturbance that was happening in this area and to document it before returning.
It wasn't really that bad of a job when you really considered what else she might have been doing instead, but it was that one verb that was getting to her: ordered. Aludra hated to be ordered anywhere, it just didn't feel like it should be her place, what with her age in comparison to their measly couple of centuries, but she was the abnormal one here and thus had to take the crap given.
Cresting the hill above the Tardis gathering, Aludra was quite the sight, lit from behind by Gallifrey's sun, her hair created a halo around her petite features and accented her loose, gauzy gown. She looked veritably regal, not like her real position at all.
Easing the grimace that was marring her face from her profile, Aludra continued on her path, taking more mental notes of the scene with each passing glance. It looked to her like there were multiple TARDISes camped on the ground, more than she had yet seen in one place since her time upon Gallifrey, and whats more--if her golden eyes didn't deceive her--those were Timelords. Ones that she herself were not familiar with.
That led to two different options: either they were the rather insane and very, very angry ones from the other side of the planet, or they were new. Visitors to their very own planet, as it were. Either option was something to approach with caution, although she definitely wouldn't receive a very good reception back in front of her superiors with the council if she didn't perform the task she was assigned.
Stifling a sigh, and a slight sense of trepidation, Aludra stepped closer to the group, before clearing her throat lightly and saying in a bell-like voice--hoping that she wasn't interrupting too much conversation, "Greetings, and welcome to Gallifrey, if you haven't already been here prior," She murmured the last in a slight undertone before going on, "My name is Aludra, and I am a member of the welcoming committee, and here to properly document your visit to our lovely planet and city." All very formal, and all very boring, she found herself thinking idly, I must do something more interesting and more productive.
Unfortunately she still had a few more things to deal with first, before any fun could be had on her end.
"I'm supposed to let you know that your TARDISes need to be properly parked in our landing facility, so as not to damage our lovely reddery, which is finally beginning to look the way it used to, as in the days of glory," She said with a smile, as that was a triumph in the eyes of the new council...that their portion of the planet was slowly starting to reflect what it should have looked like if they hadn't had to deal with all that unpleasantness which had been the Time War.
"In the meantime, it has been ever so long since we've had any visitors, might I be able to record your names for our council?" The last she said while pulling out a hand held recording device, one that was also able to determine if any were felons and the like. "Also, it's partially for me, it's terribly rude to give a name without receiving one, after all."
Waiting expectantly, and looking at each in turn, Aludra found herself thinking, not for the first time how much her job as a lackey for the high council sucked. Especially in relation to her old job, center of her own solar system. [/font][/size][/color] |

It was time to move on. If Cromwell’s foul humor wasn’t enough to convince him, he’d been exiled from the encampment outside Drogheda with a decisive “the guards have orders to shoot you on sight.” Never one to play the odds where his life was concerned, the Monk finally had to concede that “Brother Thelonius” had burnt all his bridges and there’d be no rebuilding them. So he returned to his TARDIS, but not without a resentful grimace back at the seventeenth century. The nerve of them all! They’d been remarkably resistant to his advice. Frustrating, that was the very word for it.
Still frowning, the Monk let himself into his TARDIS, which had disguised itself as a cart (horse included; it did like to be creative). He relaxed instantly once he was safe within its walls, the bright lighting and gleaming surfaces a relief after so much dimness and squalor. Somehow he hadn’t realized just how bloody the English civil war and the so-called ‘settling’ of Ireland had been. Well, no matter. He was safe now, and free to visit some other time and place... whatever he felt like. And just then he felt like taking a break from this pre-Industrial Revolution age, with its copious amounts of mud and disease.
The Monk considered exactly where he wanted to go. Time was a sprawling vastness, and Earth’s history alone held nearly infinite possibilities. But he knew already that he would stay close to the little blue planet. It was the one place the Doctor had been known to visit with any regularity. Even the Monk himself wasn’t quite sure how he’d react if they did eventually meet. He did still bear a grudge for so many things, and yet he missed the callow days of their youth, when they’d been friends. Anyway, it narrowed his scope considerably. A sudden thought came to him, immediately sparking his interest. He had a soft spot for the Beatles, even if their music wasn’t quite his usual fare. Why not see if he could salvage the band? Who knew, maybe they could last well into the 1970s...
He very carefully set his coordinates; ever since the first time the Doctor had stolen his directional circuit, the controls had been squirrely, even after repairs. However, this time all seemed to go well... until he took a look on the scanner. It showed a brilliant orange sky, and a planet he thought he’d left for good nearly a thousand years ago. The Monk banged his palm on the console in impotent rage. Why had the machine brought him here, of all places? Especially since Gallifrey wasn’t even supposed to exist anymore. That was perhaps the worst part about all this: discovering that the dullest planet in the universe was alive and well, probably still teeming with the dullest race in the universe too. And no doubt they were on their way to chastise him for dereliction of duty. Well, he wasn’t having it.
The sound his TARDIS made when trying to dematerialize, however, was not promising. In fact, it sounded rather like a dying elephant, or at least what the Monk thought a dying elephant would sound like. It was definitely not a healthy-seeming noise, rough and grating groans interspersed with high-pitched squealing. Growing more angry by the minute, the Monk was about to investigate further when he saw what else the scanner showed. A gaggle of Time Lords. At least, he assumed they were Time Lords since they were here on this wretched planet. He didn’t recognize any of them, but most had the look of renegades, so he reluctantly abandoned his TARDIS and went to join them.
“Impossible,” the Monk muttered to himself. “This is utterly impossible.” Yet here he was, back on Gallifrey. He’d heard there had been a time lock put on the planet; had he somehow managed to barrel past it? If so, he certainly hadn’t done so on purpose. He was about to speak up, to ask the group what they were doing there, if they had any idea what was going on, but just then a young girl stumbled on the scene, looking the worse for wear. She asked for help, and the Monk replied to her with a friendly smile, seeing as the others were busy with their conversations. “Yes my dear, what exactly do you need help with?”
Then everything was interrupted by the arrival of... well. Her form was basically Gallifreyan, but she seemed to glow. And when she spoke, her voice was similarly arresting. But a frown crossed the Monk’s face at her words. A welcoming committee, to his home planet? However much he hated the place, he hadn’t disowned it quite that completely and he felt irrationally resentful of the woman. And next she had the temerity to suggest they move their TARDISes. As though he hadn’t tried...! Somewhere in the back of his mind he was picking up clues— the shrubbery was returning, implying that it had been destroyed but was recovering. So. Contrary to rumor, the planet hadn’t been obliterated, apparently. Pity.
When the woman asked for their names, producing a device at the same time, the Monk was first to step forward, albeit hesitantly. He knew he was persona non grata on Gallifrey and had been for quite some time, his brief stint for the CIA notwithstanding; but perhaps if he gave himself up, he could argue for leniency. “I am the Monk,” he said, bowing low before her. “Prydonian of the House of Stillwater.” He glanced cautiously upwards while remaining stooped, hoping against hope that he wouldn’t end the day incarcerated. He’d heard the Time Lord ‘jails’ were more like penthouse suites, but even the most gilded cage is still a cage.

 The Doctor glanced at this 'Vanquisher' Time Lord and curiously wondered why someone would pick a name that was too violent for them. It was after all their name because they decided it would be, it wasn't like it was chosen for them, right? Okay so he-he was pretty sure it was a boy, but not too sure, cute though-blond, he did love his blondes-was Akira and he liked Fezes, which made him okay on his list, of course. He wanted one now, though. It was pretty darned unfair of him to be wearing one when he wasn't about to share it! He was about to say so too, when Jack started to flirt with Romana and he made a face and then made an even quirkier one when Romana was a little rude, he'd never much liked rudeness, it was one of the worst Time Lord traits.
"Jack enough, keep it in your pants," he scolded and looked pleased at himself but very quickly turned an ear towards his old 'companion'-yes he still considered her that despite the fact she was her own Time Lady.
He easily ignored the fact that Jack was trying to take charge, the once human man too impatient, oh but so was he. He chewed his lip though when the other man talked about the fact that there wasn't anyone around, it was a tad quiet, but he didn't expect anything less.
He'd listened to Romana speaking and frowned at such negativity, his face looking a little put out by it. Why couldn't she be happy, oh yes, he understood well why she was timid about it, he felt for her, but that was like blaming the entire human race for one mans actions. He did, however feel for her about what had happened, he knew that she was only a child compared to him and even though he may act like one rather more than often he'd been through a lot more things-at least that he knew of. He listened to her tell him about how-
"An Ant Farm..." he corrected her and shuffled his feet looking around with a serious look on his face. "It's an Ant farm and you're right... though, admittedly, the only eyes I feel on me are yours," and he waved a hand meaning everyone, because he knew he was practically the center of attention, just how he liked it. When Romana came back with a witty and rather actuate comment, the Doctor wibbled on the spot looking proud and not so proud all at the same time.
"Definitely not in that order," he commented with a grin before going serious, he knew things that she didn't of course. Like his death. The smile disappearing completely as he remembered all his regenerations... he hadn't wanted to change the last time, though he did indeed like this regeneration, his other had been a definite time to remember. "Well, yes, I suppose you're right, I have no right... And you have no need to be rude to Jack..." he wiggled at finger at her, glancing at Jack and offering him a bit of a smile. "He's a good man. And of course I remember Leela, I've changed, not forgotten.." He tapped his head. "...I never forget."
When she held out her bag of sweets he peered in and grinned widely at her, arching a brow. "Haven't had these in a good while," he admitted before carefully taking one, pressing an affectionate kiss to her cheek in thanks before he was looking around again, chewing silently. "The Panopticon?" he asked turning to look at her. "Is unlikely to exist..." he admitted, twisting his fingers together. "If this is real that is..." he looked a bit worried and he glanced out towards where the capital would be... "The Moment would of destroyed the capital.." he told her regretfully, dropping his eyes and feeling all sorts of guilty, neck flushing red as he looked a little miserable upon thinking of all the lives he would of ended with what he'd had to do, his face pale and grim. He made an explosion motion with his hands before turning away from them all, spine straight with tension.
He swallowed, about to say something else when a sound caught his ears and he turned to look, everyone else wiped from his mind for the moment, face still grim as he watched a cupboard-obviously a TARDIS spinning out of control through the Gallifreyan atmosphere , spinning and spinning... and his eyes followed it the entire way until it came to a spinning crash, falling over onto its side. He turned back and felt awfully clever, wondering if his TARDIS had been the reason everyone had suddenly landed around him.
Suddenly there was more people he could handle!
And Time Lords, lots of Time Lords. Oh my!
Doing a little spin, he was about to go over, especially when the girl that had crawled out had asked for help but then there was another man there, Time Lord-he wasn't sure yet. When he'd got here, he wasn't sure but it was possible he'd missed it with everything going on, it had been hard to miss the others, a few of them crashing like they had. Still it was important, she could be hurt! He'd gone to step towards them both but something else caught his eyes and he ended up riveted with his eyes solely on her. Oh wasn't she beautiful?!
It was hard to say what she was, not Time Lord, or at least, not like any he'd seen before, things could of changed though-what with everything being rather wibbly wobbly right now he wouldn't be surprised. She looked so celestial peaking that hill that she could of been part of their sun herself. His hand came up to rest on his chest, obviously moved by this whole situation. Then she stopped in front of them and though now she was not blinding she was still spectacular... Until she spoke (but even then her voice was charming to him). Aludra.
Welcoming committee? There were survivors? There had t be if someone was telling her what to do, and the man's gaze got wary all of a sudden and he opened his mouth to speak only to be interrupted by the male new-comer.
The Monk. Mortimus.
He definitely knew that name.
He was, however very reluctant to give his name as probably everyone knew who he was and what he'd had to do and he wasn't sure if the old council were here or not, had he not killed them all? This lady was much more polite-albeit a tad boring-than those who had worked for the Time Lord council beforehand. He decided that he could get his way out of this, with his friends and his spine straightened more as he joined The Monk in front of her.
"And I, The Doctor, also of Prydonian; the House of Lungbarrow." His eyes glinted as he did a quick, hyperactive bow before facing the other man. "Mortimus... long time no see," he looked a little giddy but serious at the same time, remembering the other Time Lord's mischievousness and carelessness. "Trust you to turn up in a time like this," he quipped, eying him up. "Have you changed again?" He couldn't quite remember, but his eyes turned back to Aludra...
"There are cradles not at use? Where are they? Surely not in the capital, that was destroyed for the most part, I doubt it would even have energy..."

Akira listened to what Romana was saying. He too, felt like it was slightly strange to be here.He watched between her and the Doctor as they talked. He couldn't help but giggle when the Doctor told Jack to keep it in his pants. He had to nod in agreement when she mentioned that it felt like the human toy thing of an Ant Farm. It did make sense if you thought of it that way. Like everything seemed fake and like they were being watched. Or it was just that he was with others.
Hearing something in the air Akira turned to see what was making the noise. To his surprise the noise was coming from a falling Wardrobe. A wardrobe TARDIS? That was different, but unique. All of their TARDIS's were unique. He watched as the Wardrobe spun and landed with a crash. He flinched a little as it hit the red ground. He watched as a young girl clambered out of the doors. He listened carefully as she called out for help with something. Akira was about to speak when he caught the sight of man that asked what she needed help with. More Timelords? This seemed to be getting a bit much. He figured that they too, had been like him and followed another TARDIS here. Most likely the Doctors.
Turning once more to the sound of faint footsteps. His eyes met a very beautiful woman. He had never seen anything like her before. But right away he could tell she wasn't Timelord or Gallifreyan. When she spoke it wasn't like anything he has heard before. It was gentle and perfect. His thoughts finally caught up to what she was saying. Her name was Aludra. Interesting and different. Welcoming committee? That was different and he wasn't sure he liked that. That's when he noticed the new male figure step forward and introduced himself as the Monk.
The Monk? He was having a hard time picking his brain to see if he knew a Monk. Nothing came to him. His eyes darted to the Doctor as he stepped forward as well and spoke to Aludra. Akira stepped forward. "I am the Vanquisher. But please call me Akira." he gave a small smile and took off his Fez to be polite. (Though he should have done that when he walked up to small group.) He didn't want to get on her bad side since he was still unsure of her.
