Rose sat at a table in the food court of Henricks not bothering to look around at the silent mall. It was past closing but she knew the one she wanted to meet would have no trouble gaining access to the building. She held a small piece of paper in her hand concentrating on the message she wished to send, it was a simple message really just the place and time with the words help me and her name signed at the bottom. She had been in the same posistion for about an hour before she stirred shifting in her chair and streaching to loosen her tight muscles. She slid the piece of paper into her pocket and picked up the travel mug in front of her. She flipped the lid open and took a sip of an herbal tea that she had grown fond of since comming to Pete's world. Another travel mug sat on the table in front of her for the one she hoped would come to her aid. She had been trying the method of contact for a week now same place same time praying desperatly that he would come The Doctor, so far though all she had done was drink a mug of tea alone every night.
Rose took a look at her watch thirty more minutes he had thirty more before she would know for certin if he would or would not show. Rose lifted her hand to masage her neck and nearly flew out of her seat when her com link blared to life and a voice informed her that there was activity in the buildings lower levals and that a few of the men had gone to check it out. Rumors of Cybermen had the entire city jumpy at the drop of a hat. A few seconds latter Rose's heart stopped and her stomach dropped, the rummors were true a Cyber man had been spotted in the lower levals and she was being told to get out of the building. Rose jumped to her feet snapping the spill proff lids on the mugs into place before shoving them in her pockets and scaned the aera one last time.
She was just about to head for the nearest exit when she saw a man strangly dressed man headed her way. The building was supposed to be empty secured and locked down tight, how had they missed somone that was still in the building. Rose had no time to sort out what had happened not now, instead she moved swiftly to where the man and held out her hand. With her feet running and pounding out a steady rythm she had no breath to waste in an explination. "Run!" she exclaimed hopeing the man would follow her lead. She was headed for an elevator that would lead to the nearest exit. For a brief moment a memory of long ago entered her mind of how she had met The Doctor, she swept it away it was best to run now and remeber latter.

Thirty minutes earlier, the Doctor was simply fiddling around one of the various storage room of his TARDIS. Now, he's landing the TARDIS in some parallel universe wherein a mysterious summons await him. Not that he's complaining and everything, he's just had a rough few days in his initial days of joining the Time War against the Daleks. Who knew that leading the Time Lords into war was such a stressful thing?
It would take both Time Lords and Daleks hours waiting who would strike the first move. The Time Lords used their mastery over time and space to see what would happen in the ever-changing future, while the Daleks calculated non-stop to predict the endless number of ways on how they would be victorious or be exterminated in the process. If he were his previous incarnation, he would have the enough patience to fight the entire war at such a slow pace. His seventh body always loved delaying tactics, manipulating foes into their own demise and he would feel rather happy about it. In his current self, that would be nigh impossible.
He was much more youthful than he was before. He wanted to explore worlds and be all jumpy and rumpy and all. So, at the last moment in the Battle of Zarathustra V, the Doctor went into the frontlines himself and destroyed 15, 000 Daleks with a squad of Time Lords and the Fleet of Zarathustra V. From then on, the Doctor has decided he would use his boundless energies in fighting the frontlines, where his talents could be put into greater use.
Going back to the present, the Doctor wondered why he was in this parallel universe in the first place. Stopping for a moment, the Doctor remembered why. The centuries old alien picked something out of his pocket and took out a flimsy looking notepad. The notepad was, of course, psychic paper. The Doctor recently acquired it when he saved a Time Agent, who apparently wasn't used to 'steering' his Vortex Manipulator in the Time Vortex, from being eaten by the Reapers. Seeing how handy it would be in journeys to come, the Doctor began practicing with it when he received a message with coordinates to follow, a cry for help and one Rose Tyler. The name didn't ring a bell, yet it did something to the TARDIS. The Cloister Bell rang for three time and then simply stopped. Taking this as a hint that this woman might be someone really important and is in need of saving, the Eighth Doctor decided to go to where the woman directed him to go to and now he is standing inside of a department store, bewildered that why was he taken here by his TARDIS of all places.
The Doctor locked the doors of his magical blue box and started walking around, while making casual observations on how different is this world compared to his.
"Design of clothes seems very 21st Century Earth. The store apparently is similar to the Henricks department stores from the prime reality. Only difference would be slightly advanced technology. Speaking of technology, let's see how good of a scanner are you eh?" the Doctor took out his wooden sonic screwdriver from his pocket and began scanning the area. Surprised at the alarming beeps that came from the device after scanning the area, the Doctor pocketed both his sonic screwdriver and psychic paper. The Doctor then heard a female voice shout for him to run and the man turned around to see where the voice came from. "Excuse me, but I-"
Seeing the woman had broken into a sprint, the Doctor hesitated for a bit if he should follow her or not. Maybe this woman was Rose Tyler? Or maybe not. He wouldn't know for sure. Either way, there was a genuine sense of urgency in the woman's voice and that was enough for the Doctor to follow her. The Doctor broke into a sprint to catch up with her. When her hand was within his reach, the Doctor grabbed it and tried to stop her from running. "Hi. Before we continue running, I need to ask you if we're running away from something robotic? Possibly shouting delete in a monotonous voice whilst chasing you? If I'm correct, then that I managed to install a scanner in my sonic screwdriver successfully. If I'm mistaken, then that would mean I would have to fix my sonic screwdriver again. That is, after we manage to survive an assault from old foes of mine."

Rose was sprinting and all of a sudden a hand was in hers her fingers instictivly culrling around the hand in hers and it felt right to her. Then all of a sudden she was jerked to a stop and turned to the man who had started talking in a familar way her mouth dropping open slightly at his words before closing again. " If you mean Cybermen than yes....Beyond that running now talking latter we need to make it too the elevator " she blurted out trying to piece together what he was saying could it really be The Doctor? Or was this The Master guy she had been told about. Not time to ponder she had to get the man whoever he was to saftey.
Rose's com swkawed to life and she jumped sligtly at the sudden noise in the quiet. Somone was asking for her location and wether or not "the magic man" ( The Doctors code name for the mission) had shown up. Rose pressed the button that would allow her to speak " Tyler here still in the food court aera we have a possible civilan here and if he isn't the magic man then we at least have a magic pen, were on our way to the nearest exit for regrouping. If you haven't gotten your men out of there do it now" she ordered haistly into the com.
Rose turned back to the man " As I was saying before youre screw driver is fine if you were looking for Cybermen I would really feel better having this conversation is a safer location not really in the mood to be up graded at the moment. How bout we get to the elevator ? " she said with a warm smile trying to get them headed in the direction of where it was. She was trying deperatly to keep her mind on the present, and not on mulling over the possibilty of this man being The Doctor because if he was The Doctor he would have let her know by now wouldn't he? Then another thought hit her what if he had amneisa or he was an earlier regeneration what would she tell him? What if she accidently caused a paradox, she had done that once and once was enough. She fought a shiver at the thought of the reapers. The fact that her hand had never left the man's hand escaped her as she tried to get them moving once more.

For the nth time, he did it again. The Doctor always had this way of surprising and baffling other people when he spoke and, truth be told, he liked it. Note the use of the word LIKE in the past tense. In his previous regenerations, the Doctor always loved that feeling of knowing more things than others. The best example would be his Sixth incarnation. Now that man had one hell of a mid-life crisis. Being proud and all, that body of his certainly loved the feeling of others marvelling at his excellence. He certainly didn't like that aspect of his in the past, but it would be nice if others simply understood at times. It was getting tiring actually to see others faun at the technobabble he always ranted about. But, that's probably part of the package of being a Time Lord. Sometimes, you just have to be larger and bigger than life in order to get things done.
After hearing her response, the Doctor seemed surprised at what she just said. For some reason, this woman seemed she was familiar with the Cyberman. The more interesting tidbit would be the fact that most of the people who encountered the Cybermen would be terrified at the thought of them running around the place. But no, this woman stood her ground and was telling him of her plan to leave the place calmly. That certainly was a new thing. Could this be the Rose Tyler who sent him the message? She certainly did not seem that she needed the help that a one Rose Tyler requested of him, but her not flinching or panicking at the thought of Cybermen within the district could make her a potential candidate for someone to send his psychic paper a message.
A radio cackled to life and the Doctor listened intently to the conversation between the man on the radio and the woman in front of him. Status reports? Civilian? Magic Pen? Magic Man? Could this woman be a part of this universe's equivalent of a UNIT? That idea is certainly plausible now that he noticed that the two of them were the only people inside the shopping mall. Better yet, the magic pen she mentioned was his sonic screwdriver. Did these UNIT-like people have a sonic screwdriver? Only Time Lords had access to sonic devices. Well Silurians and the Time Agency had access to them, but it was very unlikely that they had a role to play in this world. Could this magic man be his counterpart in this world? But wait, did she mention her name was Tyler? So many questions, but so little answers. At least this woman confirmed that his sonic's scanner was working and that's probably the best news he's heard in the day.
"Alright. To the elevator then," the Doctor simply replied with a smile as he nudged the woman to walk with him into the elevator. The Doctor then took out his wooden sonic screwdriver and used it to summon the elevator. "Before anything else, I just want to confirm if your name is Rose Tyler. I mean, I don't recall meeting a Rose Tyler in the past and, if I did, I would probably remembered travelling to this parallel universe. But then again, I'm one thousand four hundred and fifty three years old and something went wrong with my last regeneration, so please forgive me if I happen to not remember you. Memory has always been one of those things that get sorely affected when regenerating."
