While most people were running from the explosions, Matilda was looking on with amsuement. She never liked to run away from anything. She sighed as she reached into her purse and began to pull out a pair of clothes. It was amazing what people came up in the course of 5 billion years. Humans were nothing like they once were, Matilda was proof of that. Being born 1854 and living to 5 billion and 29 years, that was a miracle, humans weren't built to live that long. However, Matilda was, or at least the name she had earned since those days "Titian" had. She had lived to see mutants rise, only for a mutant who had gotten a little too big for her britches rob a good chunk of mutants from the equation and stopped the evolution chain they had been going on. It was generations later before a new chain of human evolutions began.
Matilda sighed as she pulled out a blouse, pair of jeans, running shoes, and a jacket. She hurried away to a changing room and quickly tossed her clothes she had been wearing into the purse as well as sandals. She found it amusing that the idea of the technology to be "bigger on the inside" came from a Harry Potter story. Humans really did have to copy Time Lords, they were the true masters of the art of 'bigger on the inside'. She ignore the memory of The Monk who had opened her eyes to how big time and space had been, she didn't need to think about now. What she needed to do was investigate. She tossed her bag to the side. Matilda could come back for it later, if not, she always had more clothes she could get made. It was time to do something incredibly risky and possibly endanger her health. Oh god, she was having too much fun!
Matilda marched out of the room as she put on her jacket ready for some action. After all, at her age, what else was she going to do, knit? She hurried out of the room and begun running towards where the explosion had been center of it. What she found was surprising, a silvery shield that was twice her height in the ground. "Oh bloody hell, don't be the Sontarans," She mutterred and she was absolutely correct when the sphere opened. It was a new version of them, the armor hadn't changed that much in over 4 billion years and immediately they started shooting.
