In the year 2012, Superman will have taken the world by storm, and by the 21st century, his hopeful impact on all of humanity will have been cemented. But six months before he becomes the Man of Steel, Clark Kent is still trying to comprehend his own destiny.

Here we have ol' Clark, simple farm boy from Kansas currently living New York for university. He's spent the last 5 years studying abroad, allowing him to see the sort of detrimental conditions that the rest of humanity lives under, and serving to help him understand what he has to do in life. In reality, Clark was born Kal-El on the planet Krypton. With the planet facing its own destruction, his father Jor-El sent him away to Earth as an infant so that he could live. Now, with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men on Earth, he saves lives in secret, and is taking the final steps towards becoming his fateful alter ego.

With that said, he needs everything - friends, enemies, lovers, the works. A time traveler or two would be most helpful, allowing Clark to get some more experience and perhaps even finally understanding what his mere presence will mean to the future of the planet Earth.

So you said that a plot between Sally and Clark could be fine...what if Sally were to be visiting New York and...I don't know, a building collapsed or an alien attacked. Something like that. She seems to always need some sort of hero.

I think it might be interesting for these two to meet, the last son of Krypton and one of earth's resident mutants. They could meet in a multiple ways, perhaps she's passing through town or anything really. Something that could use the help of two people who are essentially 'special'.
