Sally didn't feel much like a fool this first day of April, instead she felt more like the animal she took her last name from, the Sparrow. She was finally flying free, no longer held down by the constraints of a large city and being a shop owner, now her only limitations were where her mind took her...oh and her wallet. Luckily the second limitation was taken care of thanks to her years spent being a miser--something that didn't always mesh well with her personality, but that she knew would be her path towards her ultimate goal.
Travel.
And here she was, her first pit stop on that long road. Looking out of her driver's side window towards the dilapidated church, Sally couldn't help but feel exultant that all of her planning was finally culminating in what she'd always wanted, to be an explorer. Maybe she should have been been an archaeologist after all instead of a video store clerk? It didn't matter now, at any rate.
Slamming the door of her car, she put that train of thought out of her head, right now it was time to take a look at this old, beautiful building and gather more precious pictures for her collection.
Almost sprinting towards the church, Sally had to duck under a few fallen beams to gain passage, and boy was what she found worth it. With dust motes glittering in beams of late afternoon sunlight, casting everything in ethereal light, the entire church looked like some sort of set for a movie. Of course it was far too real for something like that. Moving around partially destroyed pews, Sally wasted no time in removing the cover of her lens and taking numerous pictures.
Broken stained glass windows. Crucifixes. Fraying tapestries. All was recorded permanently in her camera's film, always to be remembered thus. Old things truly were beautiful.
Turning around to make one last circuit around the church--Sally was always sure to be thorough--when she caught sight of something out of the corner of her eye. It didn't look like much, just a shadowy patch near a few broken floor tiles, but for some reason Sally found it to be just a mite suspicious. Walking slowly closer she realized that there was a crack in the ground, right where the floor tiles broke off.
How strange, she thought, quickly reaching into her backpack for her flashlight, this looks like a hole caused by an earthquake or something, although I don't think this area is known for that sort of phenomenon. Sally quickly shined the flashlight into the crack and tried to determine if there was anything of interest down at the bottom, when a sudden rumble caused her to drop the flashlight into the hole.
"Blast!" She exclaimed, bending down to reach towards where the flashlight fell, right before another rumble pitched her headfirst into the blackness.
This must be somewhat like how Alice felt when she fell down her rabbit hole, Sally thought, her brain staying relatively calm, all the while her lungs were screaming as loud as they could. There was after all, no telling just how deep the crack went.

Why was he always running from something? Now that was a good question but not the question he should be asking while currently running from something. And that something, was a whole lot of trouble. He wasn't sure what he was running from yet, but all the same, it was better to research your opponent properly before any forms of attack must be made. But, then again, he didn't like violence, couldn't they solve this with a-"-GOOD CUP OF TEA?" he finished his thoughts out loud, yelling, before rushing inside the TARDIS again, which was currently parked behind the old church.
"Nobody ever wants tea," he muttered as he straightened his bow tie and swept his fingers through his ever misbehaving hair, leaning back against the door. Glad to be safe, for now, The Doctor walked up the ramp to the console, walking around it and looking at the the many print offs. There was something he was missing, something about this situation that felt different, wrong. "Scan for lifeforms." The screen flickered and multiple forms showed up, one seemingly human. "No, no, no, impossible the church was empty when I got here, no human lifeforms were found!" he shouted at the screen, licking at his spit wet lips and frowning. "You are not being sexy, these can't be right... No... how is that possible!" he grabbed fistfuls of his hair and tugged in every what way, knees pressing together as he made a frustrated sound and ran for the door.
"No, no! If there are humans here then they ARE in danger, and it is of course my job to save them-Oh this talking to yourself, Doctor. Not at all attractive..." He kept speaking as he ran around the outside of the church, leaping over a headstone, knocking it flat and turning to apologize profusely before he rushed off and found his way back into the Church.
He lifted his sonic screwdriver and scanned in front of him, all around the room before running towards the crack he'd only examined hours before, squatting down and aiming his sonic into the blackness.
"Hello, this is the Doctor, can you hear me?" he yelled into it. "If you can hear me, don't yell back!" he chuckled a little at his wit and played with his sonic screwdriver, making a thoughtful sound. "I wonder if that goes all the way down... Could it be... Silurians? No, but why would they risk Earth density like this?? Oh, Doctor what trouble have you got yourself into now?" He mumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Hellooo, anyone fall down here recently?" he called out, hopefully.

THUMP!
That was the sound Sally's rump made as it hit the ground. Luckily for her it hadn't been the longest fall she'd ever had yet, even if it hadn't been the softest landing. Nope, that was usually reserved for landing on a pillow or a mattress, instead she had landed on some hard-packed earth covered with a light sprinkling of rocks. Quickly checking herself for broken bones, Sally hoisted herself off of the ground with a groan.
"That's going to bruise," She muttered under her breath as she began brushing loose pebbles and dirt off of her jeans and coat, irritably noticing a new rip in her favorite blue shirt. Tentatively taking a few steps around her new surroundings, Sally almost tripped over the flashlight that had barely beaten her to the bottom of this crevice. "Grrr."
Sometimes she felt like she just attracted bad luck, and other times she took the time to remember that she, Sally Sparrow, usually started the events to led her to the bad luck. Either way, now was not the time to wallow in self-pity, now was the time for action. And to get herself out of this dark hole. No doubt it's filled with insects, Sally thought, repressing a shiver as she began feeling the wall nearest her--off course it would just have to be as smooth as if someone had painstakingly sanded the dirt walls.
Suddenly, hope against hope, she heard a voice from somewhere above her. Someone who sounded as if they figured another being would just happen to be down a random floor crack in a church. Not even sparing a thought for what that might mean, Sally responded in a shout, "Hello up there! I seem to have stumbled across a hole of some variety." Well that was an obvious minimizing of the circumstances, but still how she generally spoke. After all, why make someone worry unnecessarily?
"I don't quite know how deep it is, but the walls seem really smooth...you don't happen to have a rope, do you?" Now why would she assume a random stranger would just be carrying a rope, especially when, to her knowledge, she'd been the only person around for several miles...
Oh, Sally, She thought, Why must you always think like that, now you're going to be all suspicious of your rescuer. No fair!
"You're not a rapist, are you? Too late.

If he'd been wearing a hat he would have lost it in surprise. This is why wearing a Fez was a good idea, what was the point in a fez if you couldn't lose it in your surprise when you found a girl down-well down a rabbit hole. "Is your name ALICE by any chance?" he yelled out, cupping his hand around his mouth. "No I am most certainly NOT a rapist! If I was-you think I would be here? Raping giant cracks in the Earth, I think I'd be on the bus!" He yelled before standing up and looking around for some rope, patting his pockets before shoving his hands inside and starting to pull out all sorts of things. But no rope.
"I'LL GO GET SOME ROPE. YOU WAIT HERE!" he told her before he turned off and started to run for the TARDIS, leaping over the headstones without breaking any this time. He really shouldn't have done it the first time let alone the second but he was so darn excited. There was a big crack in the Earth and he didn't know what was going on and that didn't happen very often. If he wasn't in a rush he'd try clicking his heels together just for fun. Unlocking the TARDIS, The Doctor rushed inside and closed the door behind him, walking quickly around the console before rushing off into one of the many rooms until he finally came back with a rope, one end dragging along the ground behind him. "Rope, we've got rope. All we need now is a Fez," he sighed a little and made the motion of putting one on.
Oh bother, oh well. Off to save 'Alice' from the 'Rabbit Hole' she'd fallen down. Though this was much bigger than that. He ran out the door before stopping and then going back inside and throwing the rope down to the floor, with a laugh. He punched in some co-ordinates and the sound of the TARDIS swept through the air before it rematerialized at the bottom of the crack not far from where the girl was standing. "Well that was close wasn't it?" he grinned as he poked his head out the door, eying her up. "Oh hello! Your face is kind of the familiar kind..."

Sally was embarrassed by the question almost as soon as it escaped her mouth and was quick to say so, "Sorry I asked...I shouldn't have doubted any rescue attempt, but you know, in this day and age a girl has got to be careful. Besides, She thought, even if he's dangerous, at least he could at least get me out of this hole first.
Hearing the question about her name, she couldn't repress a chuckle, after all it was the same thought she'd had when she'd fallen in the first place. "'Fraid not, although it would be fitting in this situation. It's Sally, Sally Sparrow. Pleasure to meet you...whomever you are!" Now that the formalities were done, maybe they could get to the rescue.
"So, you just happen to have rescue equipment handy?" She questioned, before waiting for a response. A response that didn't come since he must've wandered away. What had he said before the quiet, she hadn't been able to hear since she was talking over him. Just her way, she guessed. Hopefully he'd come back.
Just then, a whirring sound caught her attention. It was coming from the dark, rock room she was in. Quickly flipping around--she didn't want to be caught unaware--she saw a somewhat familiar flashing light, and a blue box she wouldn't have been able to forget if she tried. That was the spaceship that she had 'rescued' from those scary statues, the ones that were trying to kill her! There was no way she could have forgotten that police box.
Holding her breath, she seriously couldn't believe that this was happening, that her rescuer would just happen to be the person that she had always hoped to meet again, she stared unblinkingly as it finished materializing.
"Doctor!" Sally exclaimed as the door opened. Not the best greeting, but her shock was enormous. Then she caught site of the face sticking out of the door and looking around with a quirky grin and the bow tie. This wasn't the same man she remembered from last time. Not at all, he was far younger and had a completely different face. Why was he piloting this spaceship? "Wait...who are you?"
And then his words sunk in, she had a familiar face. "Are you the same as before?" She questioned, unable to stop herself, even if, in this situation it seemed completely impossible. "...but how could that be?" Well, a seemingly endless stream of questions wasn't the best way to start a conversation with a would-be rescuer, but the words were already out of her mouth. Hopefully he wouldn't be too offended.
ooc;; Not my best, I'm afraid...sorry it didn't expand on the plot too much.

Ah, Sally Sparrow, how could he forget, such a magnificent name, like Amelia pond, the way it worked it's way over your tongue like a fairytale story. He watched the girl go from excited to confused to a little scared and he looked around fearing that something was the matter. That was, until she asked who he was and he quirked an eyebrow, standing in the TARDIS door way, plucking his bow tie.
"Don't worry, you're not going crazy. I am the Doctor, Sally Sparrow. O-OH! Yes, completely new face," he grabbed a handful of cheek and pinched at it dramatically. "I completely forgot! I'm a Timelord, you didn't think I was human did you?" He looked almost insulted.
"I died, and I regenerated, instead of dying we change our bodies and faces, I got a new me. But, Oh, Sally Sparrow... it is me, I'm The Doctor, madman with a blue box. And you're Sally Sparrow the girl who stood against the Angels for me, and sent me in the right direction... How could I forget you. I may have a new face but all the wibbly bits are still in here, just with new stuff. I do like me some stuff," he muttered before walking off in one direction, lifting his finger and licking it, trying to feel a breeze. "Right, this way-" he directed, pulling out his sonic screwdriver and scanning the air around him. He was about to walk off when he spun and turned to look at her. "What are you doing down here, Sally?" he asked with a frown, eyes looking worried and serious as he approached her, waving his sonic over her and then looking at it.

His explanation didn't make the most sense to Sally, but when she applied some logic to the situation, she had to admit is was a reasonable answer. After all, had she really thought that someone who was a time traveler must be human...or could be human at all? Sally had only been inside of the Tardis once, but it had definitely been bigger on the outside. Like a spaceship.
"No, I suppose not," She said in response to the human question, "I guess I never thought about it more than surprise and excitement that someone was able to travel through time and space. That sort of smothered any other questions." Sally responded in a small chuckle.
Still, the Doctor remembered her and that was surprising in itself. He must have seen many millions of people in his lifetime and someone as basic as herself managed to earn a place. Fantastic. "Yeah those Angels...they were completely horrifying. I was just glad to be of help." She was also just glad that she didn't have to worry about common garden statues anymore. It had seriously taken her almost 6 months to stop constantly looking over her should for fear a Weeping Angel would be behind her. One never realized just how many statues existed in this world until they almost killed you. When a brief chill appeared at that thought, she quickly covered by fixing her disarrayed hair. "At least that's all in the past."
Sally watched him seemingly try to catch a breeze in this stagnant air, the first of a series of strange events, which finally culminated in him shining a light over her with a serious expression. The first she had yet seen. "You're not doing something strange to me, are you? Like an x-ray?" She asked quizzically, staring into that green light. "I was actually here to explore--my favorite hobby--and take a couple of photos," Sally said, gesturing to her camera that was around her neck.
"I hadn't ever seen this church before, and it was just so perfect! So old and dilapidated," She continued, almost wistfully, "But then of course, I had to get a little over excited and come check out this crevice...fell, and now I'm here." It was the best explanation, and the most true, of course there really was never a reason for just ending up in the bottom of a hole. Just a series of events. "There was also a mini-earth quake, too. Although, I was pretty sure that this area wasn't known for that sort of thing." She said with a twist of her lips before patting off more dirt from her clothes.

The Doctor, listened as she talked, concentrating on his screwdriver before giving it a bang against his hand, the light flickering then brightening, scanning over her face. "Just making sure you're real. I've had a bit of trouble with that lately..." the Doctor replied, shoving his screwdriver into his pocket before taking hold of the camera in his fumbling hands and instantly blinding himself with the flash, stumbling back blinking hard and rapidly. "Well at least we know that's working," he said as he turned to walk off, running right into the wall of dirt, still blinking as he lay on his back looking up at her. "Give me a moment, I'm seeing stars and I kind of like it," he held up a finger as if to silence her, laying there for a moment before he climbed to his feet, turning his ear towards the darkest part of the crack.
"Can you hear that? That's an alarm..." he said and got out his sonic screwdriver again, pointing it in front of him the dirt crumbling to shove a partially caved in tunnel, the alarm now loud enough to be heard now that it wasn't covered in dirt. He crouched down and poked his hand inside, scanning the air and then sighing. "Well the air is breathable, so the toxin's haven't been expelled, but this seems like a surprise attack, but who would know about the Silurians?" As he thought, the doctor flipped his sonic through the air and made an 'opps' sound when he suddenly missed catching it and it fell down into the tunnel.
"I guess that mean's we're going in," he said more to himself, reaching out and pressing a hand to the ground before he disappeared inside. Looking up, he climbed the dirt and poked his head out. "You fell a long way Sally, we're deep in the Earth, why do you think it's so nice and warm? Wait here..."
He disappeared again and then popped his head up again, a curious look on his face. Screwdriver now in hand. "How would you like to meet an Earthly-Earthlian race, a Silurian race... I don't supposed you'd find that at all in the least... thrilling, would you?" he grinned widely at her, running his finger through his hair before offering out his hand to help her down, if she chose to come.
He knew she would, though. "We'll have to watch out for those earth quakes we've been feeling... I haven't felt one since..."

Real? Sally mouthed the words as he continued talking to herself. She sure felt real, as real as she ever had. Still, that again brought up thoughts about the strangeness that the Doctor seemed to bring with him. So far she had only been exposed to one weird element and now he was speaking of another, it really wasn't all that surprising. What was surprising was when the Doctor grabbed her camera and took a quick photo, how unlikely.
"Well, now I at least have proof that I'm not hallucinating all of this," Sally said quietly, with a wry twist of her lips, watching him flail about. He sure was different from the one she'd met prior, but she wasn't complaining. Not nearly. Of all the 'adventures' she'd been on since leaving London several months ago, this was by far the strangest and the most exciting.
Especially when an alarm started sounding which quickly led to the Doctor disappearing into what had just moments ago been a wall.
"Doctor...wait!" Sally exclaimed running to the tunnel entrance, she was not about to be left behind. Of course, there was always the added problem of her being down in a crevice with no hope of escape without the Tardis and therefore the Doctor. Taking a quick step back in surprise when his head popped back out through the tunnel, a bright smile flashed across her face, he was actually inviting her along!
"Of course I want to see them! I want to see everything...that's why I became an explorer." Without even waiting a moment more, she reached for his hand and went through the hole. This might not have started the best circumstance, but she was going to make it better. "How do they usually take to outsiders?"

Smiles like that would get a girl anywhere with the Doctor and he grinned too, helping her through and then starting to brush dirt off of himself, glancing at her when she asked the question about the way they'd be greeted. "Well," he started as he brushed off his coat. "Depends on the Military i suppose, Humans don't have a very good reputation with the Silurian race. Human's liked to kill them, and they were just as bad as well... But, I think we're the least of their worries right now," he said quietly as he started through the tunnels. "This feels like an attack of some kind, but who would attack them and the Earth quakes didn't feel natural at all..." He paused and looked at her, shining the screwdriver into her face and frowning, lowering it as he became thoughtful. "...I'm missing something and I think I know what it is, but I'm really not sure... But, where is everyone?" he asked pointing into the little emptied room, things knocked over and left where they stood, as if they all fled.
"Strange, very strange," he mumbled, crouching down to scan some green substance, confirming that it was Reptilian of nature. Silurian. He stood, looking furious as he started through to the next room, checking them as they went through, the Doctor heading towards the military section, hoping that maybe they had been smart enough to go unharmed. Rubbing his hand over his face, the Doctor just stopped and rubbed his hand over his face. God he hoped it wasn't the humans, what if... he wasn't even sure they were capable, he'd told them to remember could it be his fault?
He had to have more faith than that! Taking a breath the Doctor continued on without a word, looking extremely grim. He turned and gave her a quick smile, toothy and playful, giving her a look, holding out his hand to her, thinking she might feel afraid, especially since he had no idea what was going on and that could be a little unsettling. But it always came to him when he needed.

Sally cocked her head, listening intently to what the Doctor was saying. Any of those words could be important, especially since she was about to meet a race of beings that she'd never seen before. And they were considered Humans! How extraordinary! "An attack, Doctor? So there might be another alien race here, too?" Sally asked, looking this way and that, making sure she hadn't missed something. Gosh, I shouldn't have left my flashlight in the other room.
What really surprised Sally was how quickly she was adapting to all of this. One moment she was just exploring an abandoned, ruined church, and now she was in pursuit of an alien race, a reptilian one to be exact.
Looking about the room at all the disarray, she almost didn't notice the green blood on many of the items, she was too intent on what all of the objects looked like. Not at all familiar to the surface! Hearing the doctor speak, she hurried over to him and accidentally knocking over one of the few standing chairs. "Clumsy, clumsy, clumsy," She muttered, looking embarrassed at the Doctor, "Do you have any idea what caused all of this?" But Sally didn't have time to wait for an answer, because the Doctor was off, striding purposefully down the hall.
As she raced to catch up with the Doctor who was intent upon this military area confusion was finally starting to outweigh excitement. So when the Doctor abruptly stopped and proffered his hand she wasted no time and went to reach for it. In times like this it really pays to have someone to hold onto, Sally found herself thinking. Right before another rumble--this time somehow closer--shook the room. "I was starting to wonder if I'd made up the earthquakes and they were instead my clumsiness taking hold," Sally joked wanting to make light of the situation. "Guess not..."
"Do you think it's the Silurians?" Sally asked, the strange word not sliding over her tongue as easily as she would have liked, "Do you have an idea what caused all this?" She asked, rephrasing her question from earlier.

The Doctor had heard her the first time, choosing not to answer merely because he had other things on his mind. Not to mention she'd given him quiet the fright when she'd knocked over a couple chairs, the slender man spinning to stare at her with a pointed look, waiting until it was silent in the room again When she asked if it was the Silurians, The Doctor frowned. "No, this is there home, they lived on the Earth way before humans ever did, they wouldn't do this to their planet," he told her as they walked, the tunnels long and winding connecting. They walked out onto a balcony to see a great city-well it had been once, it now lay in ruin and silent and dark, no longer beautiful. What once excited him, now chilled him to the bone.
"It's empty, and looks like something big happened-And I think I know what, ever since we dropped down into here, it's felt strange, the hairs on the back of my neck prickling, like I'm being watched," he said in a hushed tone. "If I had a hat, I'd feel so much better about being here..." he told her, starting to keep an eye out for one that he could wear while he was there. He liked hats. Keeping a hold on Sally's hand, The Doctor tugged her towards a door, carefully pushing it open to find the laboratory. Not what they were looking for but he slipped inside to see if there was anything they could use.
He didn't really want to talk to her about his suspicions, not just yet at least because he didn't want her to be afraid. The Silence. Could they really be down here? He really did feel quite odd, as if were forgetting something really important. "We need to look for some kind of pen," he told her as he looked around for some kind of drawing or writing utensil, only to find everything was recorded by the computer systems. "It's all linked. I can probably access the main security system," he said crouching down beside one of the screens and grinning up at her as he used his sonic screwdriver on the system.
He was trying to find out what had happened, but there were no reports, which was equally odd as it was equally worrisome. "I shouldn't have brought you down here," he told her, looking upset and emotional about it.
"I've put you in danger..."
He stood up and looked around before grabbing her hand and tugging her out of the room, heading down the hallway, back the way they came, it was too dangerous here. He started to run.
"Run, Sally," he said and he sprinted down the hall, pulling her with him.

"Oh," Sally said, a dumb response, but all of the information was just piling up and it was hard for her to make sense of it. The Silurians were here first, they wouldn't want to hurt the planet...well that makes sense. Who would want to then. That was the real question. "Is there another race that lives on Earth, one who wouldn't mind destroying us all?"
She had a few more questions to ask, it seemed like all she did lately was ask questions. Humans were just an inquisitive race, apparently, and luckily for her, the Doctor seemed the type of person to answer those questions. Still, her questions were quickly swallowed by the view of the city that sprawled out below them. Even with the streets abandoned and some things destroyed, the scene was impressive and utterly new. "Wow," Sally murmured under her voice, surveying the land below.
It seemed like she hadn't had long to look around when she saw that the Doctor was seemingly getting nervous and flustered. While Sally hadn't been feeling the same sensations that the Doctor was--she wasn't always the most observant--his nerves were infecting her. If he was worried, then Sally Sparrow definitely needed to be worried. "You think we're being watched?" She question, immediately moving her head to look behind her. All of a sudden, all of the shadows around the city and the hall took on a much more nefarious air. Talking an unconscious step closer to the Doctor, she squeezed his hand a bit tighter.
When he started off in another direction, Sally wasted absolutely no time in following on his heels. She didn't want to be left in that desolation all alone. Plus she didn't have any idea where any of the halls lead in this massive place.
Looking about the laboratory where she suddenly found herself, Sally saw the Doctor rifling through items in the room before asking for a pen. "Oh, I have one of those!" She explained, not quite sure why they would need one, but knowing that in her backpack she always carried pens and notebooks--you never knew when they might come in handy. Reaching into her backpack, she pulled out a ballpoint pen and held it up between her thumb and forefinger, "So why do we need this?"
It didn't seem like it was really that important though, a low-tech pen in comparison to his sonic screwdriver. She really wanted to be of some help though, do something, instead of just being the...the second wheel.
That last part became painfully obvious as he pointed out that he shouldn't have brought her with him, cause it was dangerous. "Don't say that," Sally said earnestly, even as she was running beside him, "It might be dangerous, but I'm sure if anyone can help out these people or find out what happened down here, it's you. And, if I'm holding you back, you could always return me to the surface?" She suggested, even if it was the opposite of what she wanted.

"Yes, there's another race on Earth that wouldn't mind killing all you humans, but you wont remember them, for a reason.... a very good reason, but you'd forget if I told you why... But there's always something trying to kill off the human race, I'll never get done saving you..." the Doctor was now answering all her questions, because it calmed him to hear his own voice, well any voice, if they kept talking he didn't look as shaken and confidently swept the halls with his screwdriver. He knew that it would help her too, she was more frightened than he let on, they were always brave though... always. "I think we're being watched," he agreed a little after she'd actually asked the question, when he'd gone quiet enough to think.
He'd heard about the pen but had been too busy worrying to actually have it click inside his head and it wasn't until he was about to say they really needed to find a pen when he remembered hearing-He thought back, word by word and he yanked his hand from Sally's and grabbed at her shoulders as he faced her. "Sally, you're brilliant!" he complimented and kissed her forehead, taking the pen from her and waving it in front of their faces. "Here's what we'll do..."
He glanced around them and then grinned a little, "Watch my hand," he told her and they walked a little and within what felt like a few seconds, two lines appeared on his hand. "I knew it.... You wouldn't be any safer on the surface, Sally. So don't be silly, you're staying. There's not much point in me telling you all about them, but whenever you see a terrifying alien-like- creature with-" He couldn't remember! "If you see something strange you grab this pen, don't you look away from it and you mark yourself. And whatever you do, stay calm. You're Sally Sparrow and I'm the Doctor, we're cool," and with that he grabbed her hand and they started to run again, the Doctor leading her into a room that led to the Military corridor.
The ground rumbled again and the Doctor grabbed to the girl, unable to stop himself from grinning a little as he saw her hands. "Sally... look at your hands." He grabbed them and held them up, showing them covered in little marks. "They erase themselves from your memory. We called them the SILENCE, you can only remember them when you are looking at them, the moment you look away... you forget. Don't forget, if you can..."

Sally listened quietly to all of the instructions the Doctor gave her. It wasn't that she didn't want to ask more questions, she seemed to have an eternal fount of those as long as the Doctor was around, it was that being quiet allowed her to center herself and absorb the information as well as she could, and apparently this information was very important.
A matter of life and death, if you will.
Swallowing and shaking her head in assent, Sally watched as marks seemingly appeared out of no where on the Doctor's hand. "But...that should be impossible," She murmured, feeling anxious as she watched herself for the marks of encountering one of these Silence things.
Hearing the Doctor say that she could continue on this adventure with him eased many of her concerns, and even in this scary circumstance, she felt herself brightening considerable. "Oh, thank you so much!" She said effusively, "I would hate to leave just when it's getting good." The last said with a small laugh. How strange it is to laugh in such a serious situation, Sally thought, at least it somewhat lightens the mood.
A mood that wasn't lightened for long. As the dashes began to appear on her hands, and then her arms, Sally itched to scratch them away--as if by removing them it would remove the entire concern of these aliens. She definitely didn't seem to share the excitement of the Doctor in this circumstance, it was interesting and all, but he seemed to have a completely different idea of what was exciting. Maybe that is his real allure, that he's seemingly fearless.
"Fearless leader," She said with a small smile as she used his hands to stabilize herself on the shaky terrain.
Still, as time passed and they continued moving through the deserted corridors, Sally began rubbing at her forehead, striving to remember, something, anything of help. Finally, in an almost exasperated tone, she asked, "How is all of this marking up of our person helping us? I understand that it's letting us know what we're up against, but I can't even remember what I see, let alone do anything to stop them..." The last said in a somewhat sad tone. How she wanted to be of use.
"I'm sorry," Sally said almost as an after thought, "I shouldn't have snapped...my nerves are getting to me, and these things." She said holding up her inked arms with an apologetic smile. "I seemingly can't take all of your advice, particularly the stay calm part."
