- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - YOU CALL ME A TRAITOR BUT I'M JUST COLLECTING YOUR VICTIMS, THEY'RE GETTING STRONGER I CAN HEAR THEM CALLING! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - BANG! She hit the deck like a brick of lead as her TARDIS came to a stop in the middle of God only know where. Taking a deep breath she sat up, winced and took a deep breath. She hated the feeling of being winded, it was painful and it made her feel as if she was going to throw up. Sighing lightly she shook her head as she got up she rubbed her side and winced before tucking her TARDIS key in to her top and making her way around the control panel. Val checked the place over for any major defects in the ship...she was glad to find non which was epic and lucky at the same time. Bouncing on the spot for a moment she turned to look at the door and narrowed her eyes. “where are we this time Rho?” her voice almost sing song as she forged the safety checks and barrled her way towards the door and in to the world they had landed on. Well first batch of good news was that it was breathable and it didn't seem to be full of fire and brimstone. Score. She smirked slamming the door of her TARDIS shut with force and digging her hands in to her shorts. It was a nice place seemingly, old and you know, it seemed a little off though to her. She sniffed the air, it was old and must and dust mixed with tangs and whiffs of disinfectant. She couldn't help but wonder where they were, this place was just weird and it was half falling apart. Her converse kicked a stone down the corridor, it echoed against the walls and seemed so much louder in the corridor than it really was. Something about this place made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, that good old Gallifreyan gut instant that said; 'this place ain't safe – yes!' Maybe it was in their blood to seek out trouble and try and get themselves killed. Mind you Valkyri didn't really understand the concept of danger. Running in to the storm was what she did best. She wondered down the corridor, humming quietly to herself until something broke the silence, the sound of a ship over head. Stopping in her tracks she looked up and stared at the ceiling and paused...why did she get this sense of foreboding? It got louder, much louder than all of a sudden there was a humongous bang behind her, the building shook dislodging debris above her head and forcing her to break in to a run. What the hell was going on here? She sprinted down the corridor, sliding to a stop as she took a right and ran to what would have been a window. Her eyes fell on the city, the huge city that stretched as far as the eye could see. One day a while ago this place would have been magnificent. Beautiful shining world that beat like electric pulses and now...ruined. Chunks missing everywhere and her eyes watched another ship drop a bomb on a building close by. “Aww crap.” She muttered, as she stood there wondering what to do, of course another explosion sent her running down another corridor...they all looked the same here and worst off all as she turned behind her she realised she was cut off. Fantastic. How the hell was she going to get out of here now? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Done TAGGED: Tagged for Cy & River WORDS: 700 LYRICS:Monster – Paramore. --------------------------------------------- He is like fire burning through time. As old as forever but fast in his prime. --------------------------------------------- Cypher had only recently left Gallifrey having met several Time Lords, interesting people that they were. She even had seen Romana again! She liked Romana, she was nice and did look after her a bit. She was certain her current obsession Jelly babies was atributed to Romana. She currently was chewing on a lemon tasting one. Cypher was startled when Bea started blaring a song, it sounded like one of those psikadelic songs from the ninetween seventies. She couldn't help but laugh at the lyrics, it reminded her of the mad Time Lord she had met, he had a very nice bowtie.
He is like fire, burning through time As old as forever, but fast in his prime I saw his blue spaceship materialise He stepped out and said to me, "run for your life!"
I don't know why I never thought to ask him for his name But I really don't think he'd have told me the truth anyway But you know, that's ok
Cypher couldn't help it as she hummed to the music as she followed the mental images provided by Bea. Everything was going wonderful, she was taking to piloting a lot more than her trip to Gallifrey and she wasn't sure she really wanted to go back to be honest. What she did want to do was visit a planet where she could visit. Cypher had been studying the books she could on Time Lords and the library on the ship had been vast. Though she had a little trouble reading the Gallifreyan language within the last few months, but she got the hang of it. At least she did until something collided with the exterior with the ship causing Cypher to fly backwards.
It's completely terrifying but it's so so exciting He said I was brilliant and I could change the world So many places I've been and there's so much more to see We've got galaxies and planets and moons And an awful lot of running to do
As a full-time companion he gave me a key And a phone with a signal in every galaxy As we fell through the vortex I felt so free Please don't let this danger just be another dream
Bea begun to spinning out of control, the chameleon circuit becoming damaged as she slipped out of her wardrobe appearance and into something irrevicable permanent. Cypher was knocked into the ground and had to crawl over to the console as Bea flashed images through out the young Time Lord's mind showing her a multitude of images of what she needed to do. She began hitting multicolored knobs and tried to pull the break off and gripped a large triangular knob an pulled it up. "Come on, come on!" She yelled as Bea began to spin to full a stop and barely grazed the side of a building on the planet. A word flashed in Cypher's mind that she think it meant was Release. She did what it said and relaxed sinking to the floor. She let out a breath as she approached the exit of the console room and grabbed her hoodie that was hanging up on a wall and zipped it up and opened the door that looked different, it was red with tinted windows. She opened the door and looked it out. It looked like a warzone.
"Cool!" Cypher yelled with a childish glee at what she was seeing. She took her way through the building nearest her and began to walk through the room without any sort of protection or... Anything really. "Oh yoohoo," She called out and tried to push away the senses that were making her ill, the spinning and falling sensations that were making want to puk all over the bloody floor. It was then an explosion happened, Cypher had covered her head and managed to not suffer any harm. Then she took off in a run only to collide with someone and she wasn't entirely certain, she may have fallen on them.

She said no. One in a million-and ginger, too-and she said no. And, alright, a little shrill and loud, but hes had worse, and they certainly turned out OK. Brilliant, even.
But she said no. To him! No one ever says no!
Friends came and went, but they never said no, not after seeing the inside of his lovely, sexy TARDIS, not after seeing the good they could do.
Well, there was that one time, but she changed her mind in the end, and look how brilliant that had been. But he really shouldn’t be thinking of that right now. A duvet day, that’s what he needed-a bit of sun, and quiet, and a banana daiquiri, and maybe a bit of running if he was lucky. Good for the hearts, that. Kept him young.
The TARDIS set down in an empty, shadowy room with her usual grinding of gears sound and more than her usual turbulence. Poor Old Girl could use a bit of down time herself, really. Hadn’t done that much actual flying in centuries. She was shuddering and juddering and throwing him around more than usual, might be a good time to spend a few days in dry dock, so to speak. Get thing shipshape again. Or, well, phonebox shaped.
The view screen showed quiet and desolation, maybe she’d taken things into her own hands again. Hardly a first, that, he’d spent a whole lifetime unable to land where he aimed. More than one, actually.
But! All readings showed a habitable world, even if he didn’t recognize it. And life signs, wonderful! He might get that running after all. Or a daiquiri.
“Right then. Allons-y!”
Didn’t matter that there was no one around to here it-there was a whole world to explore. And, if the ground was quaking no sooner than he set foot out the TARDIS’s doors, that was even better.
“What?”
He wasn’t running, not exactly. Didn’t merit run for your life yet, but these long legs were good for covering ground, at least. Two minutes, twenty-five point eight seconds, and he was already off to a bad start.
He didn’t hear the girl’s shouts-he certainly didn’t see her, either, but his mind was on other things. He did notice when they plowed into each other, a tangle of limbs and confusion.
“What?”
Oh, ginger. And young. Too young, and she was making his time senses positively writhe, worse than those few seconds on Satellite 5 before. Well. Yes. But! The ground was rolling again, and it was becoming something of a too familiar feeling. He needed to get his bearings. He needed answers. He needed a window.
“What? No, nevermind. Come on.”

It hit her like a ton of bricks, Time Lord. Her newly aquired senses were telling her she had just run into a Time Lord and heavens to betsy, he was bloody tall! What was he? A giant? Then again everyone was tall compared to Cypher, she only a little bit taller than five foot tall and then man at least had a foot above her in height. Okay and he adorkably cute, not that she was looking. No sir-e. Once she managed to get back on to her feet she was staring at him momentarily. What she could see of the probaility tree just become really confusing as branches of possibility fly out the window, it was trimming season and most of the possibilities were so blurred, she couldn't get a sense of them anymore. She didn't quite understand it quite yet. "You say what a lot," She commented, her voice of a woman betwen nineteen and twenty years old. "I'm Cypher by the way," the red head offered and had a sense of dread build at the pit of her stomach. Something was the matter, something was wrong and she didn't quite get it as she noticed groaning in the direction she was following the man, doing her best to match his pace. It was then she noticed something, on the ground were corpses, most of them looked like they had been cannibalised and she stopped dead in her steps. Cypher wasn't sure what to do other than she felt the sensation you expect when one of your hearts stopped and you didn't hear breathing from her at least until she looked towards the man she had knocked into and was following. "What happened here do you think?" She asked. It was then that the wall to her right exploded. clothes

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - YOU CALL ME A TRAITOR BUT I'M JUST COLLECTING YOUR VICTIMS, THEY'RE GETTING STRONGER I CAN HEAR THEM CALLING! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - If she had a sense of danger she might have been panicking around now, she might have thought that this would be a good place to jump back in to her TARDIS and get the hell out of here…but she didn’t. It wasn’t so much a trait amount her species more her stupidity. Valkyri ran, ran through the building, through the half broken corridors and the falling apart corners of what used to be a hospital. Another bomb blast shook the building, buts of stone falling down off the walls, a light behind her exploded in to a rain of sparks. Swallowing she wondered exactly how this place had dome to be. Had come to end up abandoned like this, as she looked around more closely all the signs were this. This city hadn’t been shut down, it had been left standing. Looking through one of the office doors she noticed there was paper work left out that had been blown around the room and a cup on the desk. You didn’t leave that kinda crap when you moved out. No something much darker had happened here. Her run broke and she started walking a slow amble through what once would have been doors and in to a large hospital ward. There was blood, a lot of blood, way too much blood for her liking but she didn’t turn around. There was that little spark of having to know in her, she had to know what happened here or she wouldn’t be able to get it out of her head…the idea that something had happened and these people were gone and the images she was looking at. After all dead bodies were never nice to look at. A moment of thought as she tried to figure out the best course of action, if there was some power to the building and the city she wondered if the data networks were still somewhat functioning too. She doubted they had time to shut them down if they hadn’t even put cups away. All she had to do was find an access point. That was going to be harder than she thought, the building shook again, the aerial bombardment of the city getting faster paced and she hoped that it would end soon or she was going to be in serious trouble. Never mind that though! Walking through the ward and out the other side she figured the best place to look for one would be the floor entrances, beside the lift and stairs…after all that was always where the information boards were right? Unless her memory was tripping her. Of course what was the best way to find something? Ask. She could feel them here, feel the two Time Lords…what the hell was this place I’m a Gallifreyan get me out of here? Smiling she popped her head around the corner, realising she had run a full circle in the last ten minutes. “Hi!” Valkyri commented brightly as she looked at the tall guys and the ginger, she almost felt smug for a moment, her hair was brighter. Hell it was the colour of a freaking orange. “Have any of you seen an information panel or maybe a data access point around here?” It wasn’t the kind of question you casually asked someone in the middle of a bombing raid on a zombie planet. Then there was an explosion, this was big, the whole building shook and bits of wall went flying…and yet she didn’t really seemed bothered. Time Lords-and Time Ladies, but considering he’s the last, then there was no need for gender specifics, especially when it was only a very loose translation that didn’t involve gender in the first place-as a rule, tend to have more senses than the average humanoid. Oh, there was the usual five-sight, sound, smell, touch, taste-as well as psionic, temporal, magnetic, dimensional, and a whole host of others.
Precognition is not numbered among the Gallifreyan senses. However, The Doctor has learned to take note of any looming feelings of doom. Maybe it comes from spending too much time with Humans. Maybe it was over nine hundred years experience. Maybe it was the corpses littering the ground.
In fact, it looked distinctly like an abandoned hospital. He hoped any contagions had died already. Not that he was afraid for himself-wasn’t much a Time Lord couldn’t handle-but he was concerned for the sake of the young lady. How long had she been here? Was she a native, or passing through, like himself?
Did he really say what a lot?
“Hullo, Cypher.” Or was it Cipher? Nah, didn’t matter. Few enough humanoids knew the meaning of their own names, even when it was particularly interesting. The Doctor was purposefully using his most disarming, unalarming tones. Wouldn’t do to frighten the liver out of a girl within a minute of meeting her.
“I’m...” The wall imploded before he could finish.
His senses were boiling again. Not from time tangles, or fixed points, or paradoxes, dimensional hopping, or shifting magnetic spheres. In fact, it was so mundane, so run of the mill, everyday, so bloody brilliant he almost missed it. But, then, his head had been empty for so long, it was easy to forget what it was like to feel others again.
Time Lords.
There were Time Lords here. Two Time Lords, and he was standing here talking to them.
It had to be a dream. A trap. The universe just wasn’t that nice. Not to him. Not now.
In quick succession, because he needed to be quick now, the bombs-he was positive they were strafing runs now, and that meant the contagions were likely still active, or the locals were very paranoid-were getting closer by the moment, he produced the sonic from the depths of a pocket and set to scanning.
1. Yes, Time Lords. Of a sort. Maybe Gallifreyan would be a better term, for now. He wasn’t entirely sure they were Time Lords, not as such.
B. Er. 2. Yes, bombs. No, not dirty, not radiological, not chemical, not atomic, not temporal, but yes, the next one would land square on this building. Or close enough that it didn’t matter.
Apple. 3. C. Time to run!
They needed cover. They needed to talk to whomever was behind the bombing. He needed to talk to these girls. A data point would be a good start.
“Come on. Let’s try the atrium.”
Off and running again as bits of masonry fell all around. Even if there wasn’t a data center in the atrium, there would be less danger from falling things, and more time to think.

Lucky for Cypher, she had moved away from the wall before had done anything at all to her. She didn't hear the man's name, strange, it was like that song that her TARDIS decided to blare. About the man that never told his name but did have have exciting travels. Everything was just insane and oddly comforting, though it made little sense to her. She tugged on her light red hair, trying to get the bits of the wall out of her hair. Little did she know that the room was coated with the zombie virus, but thanks to superior immune system that she had been given, she like the natural Gallifreyans in the room was immune to the disease.
"Hello!" Cypher called to the girl that looked her age. She was bright, very bright. Cypher briefly wondered how you got your hair that bright. Data access point? "Oh, no, I haven't seen one," Cypher offered. Though she hadn't had a chance to really look around the place and she was getting ill thanks to the dead things all around at the momment. She was trying to build up a calmness to it.
Cypher's eyes focused on the older Time Lord, she was fairly certain that's what he was, what else could he be? Though she had no idea that she wasn't a true Time Tot, no one had revealed that to her that she had been put together wrong and that had partially enabled her to regenerate, there was only so much pain the human body could take and they had tried to make an ape, a lizard.
Cypher wasn't sure what was going in the Time Lord's head, but had chosen to follow and took off on a run after him and tried to keep up with him. The atrium was where they were going and everything in here was happy, excited and she was trying to figure why, probably the running. Cypher did like to run, and she tried to avoid being hit by the bits masonry that were falling.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - YOU CALL ME A TRAITOR BUT I'M JUST COLLECTING YOUR VICTIMS, THEY'RE GETTING STRONGER I CAN HEAR THEM CALLING! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Glancing between the two Time Lords she frowned a little. Great yet again she was the only one with one heart in the room. Fantastic. The truth was she often wondered how many Gallifreyans had made it out the war, the Time Lords well…they could run away. They had transport and the means to desert if they wished but those who never made it that far. They had been stuck on a burning planet – like she should have been. Valkyri swallowed and let the memories slip away. She didn’t want to think about it. It wasn’t thoughts that were meant for here. It did appear that for once Valkyri had a decent idea, apparently she wasn’t as stupid as people back home had thought. The truth was when it came to text books, maths, physics, navigation and the academics she wasn’t that great, average maybe but not stupid…street smarts though…well she had some of that. She could talk her way out of anything, she could think fast and she had no idea what the term ‘danger’ meant. In retrospect this place wasn’t exactly her flourishing ground. She could have easily made it as a politician back home if she had just been bothered to try at school. That was what wound people up, she couldn’t be bothered. The first answer she got wasn’t the one she was looking for, the other ginger in the room hadn’t seen any….damnit. Mind you Mr Tall had an idea. “Come on. Let’s try the atrium.” Now that sounded like a plan and a half. It was a case of running, trying o avoid the bits of building that were falling down. Valkyri had underestimated how big this place was, she had to stop for a moment and look at a half destroyed map on mounted on a wall before she bit her lip and figured out which way to go. “ah that way!” She proclaimed proudly before zipping off in that direction, it didn’t take that long to get there, as they did it became even more evident that something had gone very, very wrong. Coming to a stop she looked at the large atrium, it was huge, round, up above them would have been a glass ceiling, the coloured glass now scattered across the floor over dropped hand bags and personal belongings. It could only really mean one thing- panic. Frowning she flipped over a piece of glass with the toe of her skateboard shoes and spotted a wallet under it. She bent down, picked it up and opened it being a nosey cow. There was all the normal things, touch point payment chips and more interestingly a photograph inside the clear slot. A family, four very happy looking small children with that Valkyri presumed to be their mother and father. She knew what it was like to have your family torn apart…she wondered if they were out there somewhere waiting for mum or dad to come home or if they had been caught up in this mess… “I wonder if their data core is still pretty much undamaged…we should be able to access security logs and figure out how this all started…” At least that was her thinking behind the whole idea. Suddenly she found herself pissed off. Most of the time things rolled off her back becase she tried not to care, she didn’t take note of the people around her and she sure as hell didn’t pay attention to family photographs of victims. This time not so much. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Done TAGGED: Tagged for Cy & 10 WORDS: 592 LYRICS:Monster – Paramore. Atrium, yes, good, glass already fallen and no more bits of wall to dodge. At least for now. And two young women-everything was young to him, but it still applied-who may or may not be from Gallifrey. He still wasn’t sanguine on the idea, and he’d seen all kinds of impossible in his time.
That was just too impossible. He was holding his mental shields tight, much as it pained him to do so. Out of practice. Lazy. Lonely.
Ginger and Very Ginger, almost as if they’d been made for him-thinking instead of screaming and running right alongside. Well, no, not that, he knew where things went when he started thinking like that, and it was never anywhere good.
Right. Work to do!
He pulled the screwdriver from a pocket and aimed it at the data point. It made a sickly sort of sonic sound, sputtered in a flash of blue and popped loudly.
“Ah, no! Not again!” He smacked it once, twice across the palm of his hand, and tried again.
“There, that should do it. Hasn’t worked right since 2012.” He gestured with the rather sad, beat up looking sonic. Needed to be replaced, soon, but he was a sentimental old sot.
“But that should give us access to everything there is left accessible. Blimey, that was a rubbish sentence.
Look for information on quarantines, or military action, locations and names, and I don’t know, just anything interesting.”
The Doctor been speaking, more or less, to the Very Ginger girl, since she’d asked so nicely, but loud enough for either to hear. Really, he wasn’t trying to be rude-he never did, it just came out that way, sometimes-but if she’d asked, she must know how to use one, and teaching the other-Cypher, her name was Cypher, and that was rude, stop it-to use it might waist time they didn’t have.
Or she could muddle through, of course, he had a long and illustrious history of leaving people to muddle through, no reason to stop now. Either way, he moved to let one of the girls take over, while he attempted to sonic the computer terminal at the nursing and admittance station into submission.
“Alright, what have we got?” He was really just addressing the air, this time. It was so much easier to think when his mouth was moving in this incarnation.
“Ooooh. I suppose that explains it.”

Something about this place seemed so familiar and Cypher couldn't put her finger on it, she wasn't sure what was going on,but it the looks of the entire room, earlier out in the city itself. It felt like something she had read about in one of the Gallifreyan history books she had been reading from. Cypher wished her Time Lord--Lady senses of time and space were working better, maybe then she could figure out what was going. However, they felt for lack of a better word, jammed. It wasn't something she control at the moment, so in the mean time she followed the two older people.
Once they had made it to the Atrium, she still felt a niggling feeling that the longer they were there, the worse it was going to get. Cypher rubbed the back of her head, she was beginning to form a headache. While they worked on the computer she was rubbish at by the way, she noticed a map on the wall that blatently said YOU ARE HERE and she touched the screen on the wall to the far right of them and it showed a planet. "Xanadurextiparvis. That's funny didn't they have a virus that broke out and destroyed two-thirds of their..." She began and then her voice became incredibly small, "population."
Cypher approached the I-Am-More-Ginger-Than-Thou and Mr. Time Lord. "We have to go now," Cypher said, her voice obviously panicking and laced with fear. "We're on Xanadurextiparvis, probably the 845th century. They had a huge plague, the Gallifreyan History books on this place said the virus turned them into for lack of a better word, zombies." She immediately told them. It was then the most surprising thing was announced.
"This area is infected - sterilsation underway."
"We have to go now, out the way we came!" Cypher said, she was already quickly heading towards the area they had come from. And here she promised Romana she was going to stay out of trouble. It was then explosions came from infront of where Cypher had been standing. She barely had enough time to cover her face.

He looked at little upset about it all, she could understand the world sucked when your favourite toy was being a bitch. She just shrugged and started to get to work on the computer, she was just learning how to navigate their system when she heard Ginger speak up "Xanadurextiparvis. That's funny didn't they have a virus that broke out and destroyed two-thirds of their...population “ Valkyri stopped typing and poking around and instead just lifted herself up on to the desk and sat down as if she was about to have lunch. The whole idea of danger was not a concept she didn't understand. Though it looked like she was milling over the information when really she was looking at the room. She didn't know why the hell it was getting to her. Sure she didn't have much of an attention span but right now it was worse than usual. The place was a mess, bodies, glass, bits of brick...the remains of the little shop scattered across the atrium and a once bustling place was...well dead. She could see what it used to be like in her head, the pictured a couple taking home their new baby smiling and an elderly couple walking around with walking sticks. Her head was so far away even the rumble through the ground of a far off explosion didn't make her turn her head. Neither did the conversations. Sure she was aware that Ginger was panicking her head off, and Valkyri couldn't really understand why. They could all get out of here so easily, it took a few moments to run back in to the TARDIS and they would be safe regardless of what was going on outside their doors. People were over reacting and freaking out over nothing. If this hospital was still in a some what upright state after all of this it had been built well. “Its just a couple of bombs its not the end of the planet.” She snapped, almost sounding a little ticked off at peoples attitudes, god people were such scaredy cats these days. These two had the blessing of eternal life why the hell were they the ones freaking out, she had one heart, one life, one chance and she wasn't going to so screaming and running away from everything that made a little noise. Though one word caught her attention, one little word that turned a some what hum ho adventure in to the best thing in the universe. “Zombies?” She asked sounding far too excited. “As in like, you know, proper I'm going to run around moaning trying to eat your brains Zombies?” Oh this was glorious. There was a little squeal from her lips as she did a little dance where she was sat before she jumped down and went back to the computer. "This area is infected - sterilsation underway." - "We have to go now, out the way we came.” Why run away though? Everything made her want to know more about it, find out what had happened here and why! “Come on, where's your sense of adventure, we are in the middle of something amazing and your running away?” Val stopped herself from going off on a rant, if she wanted to run away she could. Her loss. Her head went back down and her eyes ran across the computer screen looking for something that would help them figure this out. There was another explosion, she was concentrating and frankly if you went running off while bombs were falling what were you expecting? “The virus started here, first patient was brought here and within eight hours the entire hospital was infected, within forty eight hours a three mile radius was infected...then you know the normal reaction. Mass panic.
